Need to give Glen minutes tomorrow. The bucks are bad, but we tend to play to our competitions level. Nee to try to go 3-1 here.

"I wanna tip my hat to my teammates for winning a road game. I mean look around, you couldn't even tell we played this in DC and this is a home game." --Martell Webster after the game. :(

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

It's up to Webster and his teammates to put Wizards fans into the seats by winning.

Simple as that.

big market team's fans are like locus in DC. They come out of hiding and rear their repulsively swine resembling heads.

I think once a clear pattern of winning is established we should see decent turnout. If the local media starts giving the wiz props as the Skins continue their epicly woeful season I think seats will begin to fill. John Wall's ascension to stardom will also matter. Kids will want to see him play, their parents will be compelled to take advantage of the relatively fair prices thus far. Of course when that happens I'll be stuck in the nose bleeds cause of ted's flex pricing :sigh:

I dont mind you having a favorite player on other teams but why does your favorite team have to be LA & NY, etc.... I hate front running fans or people who are just fans of the popular teams. Yankees, etc... Pick your own team. Sometimes its genuine or they have real reasons. I dont mind that but alot of fans just like those teams just because they are the "it" team. Stop being followers

Agreed. If we don't run the Bucks off the floor, all of this momentum will come to a screeching halt

Wall made a similar comment after the Knicks game about how "now he knows who the true fans are" or something to that effect

The bottom line is, when you're winning you'll have fans. During the Isaiah Thomas era NYK fans regularly cheered for the other team. Kobe and Lebron got MVP chants at MSG.

If we make the playoffs, all of this will change next season.

That's got to be frustrating as hell for a player.

I can understand when the fans cheer for Kobe or Lebron or other superstars, that's the nature of this league. It encourages allegiance to players more so than teams. But I just don't understand why DC fans were cheering for the Lakers tonight. That wasn't the Lakers. That was a broken down Pau Gasol and a bunch of journeymen wearing purple and gold.

with that being said, Martell needs to either shutup or say it in a better way. We usually always suck, never make teh playoffs, etc. You can say things about the fans in a better way. Just say that its tough and you need our support. Dont come off like this. I know what you mean but others may take it the wrong way and try to turn it against you and then you have to apologize. I havent been going to games recently. Im going to start again. I dont like the atmosphere much but whatever

Honestly, I was a huge Magic Johnson fan...but I never rooted for the Lakers when they played the Bullets.

EVER..... :nonono:

I assume these guys also root for the Cowboys as well.

Winning on a back to back on the road could be tough. At least the Wizards took care of their business tonight.

The Lakers are not an it team anymore. Still funny that so many Laker fans showed up to the game.

I know right? It's complete bull that fans aren't selling out every game at the Verizon Center to see a team that hasn't won 50 games since since 78-79! What crappy fans. Shame on you DC for not continually supporting perhaps the worst franchise in the sport through mind-boggling, persistent stupidity. I mean, what the hell gives man? You're acting like the owner of the team had a fiduciary responsibility to field a reasonably competent team to justify your purchase. Can't you guys see that they've won four out of the last five? Never mind the fact that they're still under .500 and haven't actually proven anything even this year! You guys suck! You sold out the game against the Niners and watched your team get trashed in 30 degree weather, but so what, it's your obligation to fill the arena of the man that still employs EG!!! Do it or feel worse about yourselves because that's the way this works, nothing perverse about it at all. I bid you adieu. I'm off to blame victims of spousal abuse that had the courage to leave their relationships for contributing to the rise in single parent households.

Can we stop using this metaphor for sports?

Not really a metaphor, it was reductio ad absurdum (or at least an attempt to keep my ridiculous, sarcastic post going), and I just included it for rhetorical flourish. It was meant to be comically over the top, but i didnt mean to offend anyone by it. If the mods deem it offensive, please remove it or notify me that you want it removed.

lol.......I was just on the Lakers #1 forum and reading there game thread. Someone quoted what I said before teh game and laughed at it. I said that if Ariza & Webster starts then we win and Wall looks great but if Witt is an idiot and starts Temple then all bets are off and Wall could struggle. They stopped there quote at "great" though and said it was too funny. I bet they arent laughing now......lol
