Why not? He's expiring money and a good player when healthy.

CntOutSmrtCrazy wrote:That 2029 pick is complete unknown

Ok? That's how trade packages work. You don't get 3 FRP's back to back to back.

CntOutSmrtCrazy wrote:and the one tangible asset we have is a pick in one of the worst drafts in years

And Brogdon, and a 2029 first.

CntOutSmrtCrazy wrote:Even at his current level of production going forward there would have been a ton of contenders we could have maybe gotten a much more tangible haul from.

LMAOOO. Yeah contenders were really lining up to throw 5 FRP's for a guy who averages 14.7 ppg on a terrible team.

Health? This dude has played the following amount of has missed basically like half his games over the past 5-6 years.

Back-to-back-to-back? We got one in a pitful draft and get the next one in half a decade.

Who said anything about 5 picks? But we had room to wait it out and Dawkins made a panicky, petty (no his guy) move.

You must be one of his troll bots.

How is trading Deni a comittment to a true rebuild when Jordan Poole, Kuzma, and Brogden are on the roster?

Some of you sound silly right now.

I said "Brogdon who could net another FRP if he stays healthy" you absolute fool.

He also won 6MOY in that stretch. Oh, and he also got traded for a FRP in that time.

You're an idiot if you think I'm a bot. Keep crying like the loser manchild that you are.

There was way too much approval and optimism of our new FO last year.

Lucy, Charlie Brown, football…..rinse, repeat.

Thankfully, this team has pretty much killed any fanaticism I had for it these past few years so obviously horrendous trades like this don’t really sting anymore.

Yes, but you do understand you just don't fumble away one of the few tangible assets you have. So even if he wasn't part of a future team that can compete which I think makes absolutely no sense given that he's 23 and could have been in the prime of his career as a versatile forward when we are looking to contend in 3-4 years. What is this rebuild supposed to take 7-8 years? That's what made
Deni a piece you could wait to see with what you got because you could still have a good player once the retool was done in the prime of his career. There are players in this draft his age.

You judge a rebuild on the end destination. Those guys are on the team right now. Eventually they'll be gone. By trading Avdija what do you think the front office time frame for being competitive is?

Can't say I'm surprised that Avdija was traded. I think he still has more levels to where he could take his game to but it's clear that the Wiz time frame is several years out. Carrington, BC and Sarr. We are a super young team.

So Kuzma didn't get traded but Deni did. If anyone had suggested that as a possibility they would have been laughed at.

He’s a dollar bill we are using to get some lottery tickets to try to win a million. Kuzma the same. It may be a strategy that doesn’t work, but that’s the strategy.

This is wild to me. WILD. Not in my wildest nightmare would I think they would have traded Deni for a broken down 30 year old and a couple of crappy first rounders.

Love the results so far Poole in, Deni out. FFS I'm not even debating this anymore with some of you. What happened tonight was malpractice and should have not happened. Kyle **** Kuzma is going to be on this roster next year, and Deni is in Portland. To be a fan of this franchise is truly like an episode of The Twilight Zone.

I’m going to start treating this team as my feeder team for teams I root for.

To be honest i feel more sorry to Deni than to the Wizards.. Deni loved Washington and their fans and now he's going to a state with a lot of violence and many antisemitic fans that might boo him every game and to a worst team that the Wizards

Will be a funny night to look back on. If they just hang onto Avdija and draft Sarr at #2, it’s a great night/draft.

Nevermind making an idiotic trade in which you bid against yourself to take an absolute bust at #24, wouldn’t even care.

Instead, this new FO sets the franchise on fire. Gives away Avdija. Completely wastes the #14&#24 picks, hangs onto Kuzma, and gives away #51.

Yeah, I’m done for awhile, maybe for good. Had a lot of hope/optimism with the new FO, but this was an absolute disaster.

I’m cursed to support the two worst franchises in the NBA.

The ‘timeline’ argument does not hold water imo…How old is Deni? He should have been a core part of the ‘rebuild’. In fact, he and Zinger would have been the only 2 players I kept from the previous administration. Maybe Gafford - oh wait…

If it’s truly about getting ‘their guys’ then as someone suggested, it’s malpractice. I doubt that’s the case but DA raised it and it can’t be coincidence.

Honestly, perhaps best he left this organization. Congrats to Zinger on the ring and to Gafford on having that chance. Best thing that could happen to them.

Portland has a very interesting team.

Why do you talk like Bub and George being busts is a foregone conclusion? Both of them were mocked around where they were selected.

Your personal pre-draft player evaluation isn't the end-all-be-all, and you don't know everything.
