George could make a massive jump and pas the others easy .

I could be in the minority here, but unless all 4 make an SGA level type of jump, with the cap going up, we should be able to keep them all. Out of the 4, Sarr is probably the only guy who's contract will top $100 million.

Would you trade Jordan Poole and Marcus Smart for Bradley Beal and 30th Overall Pick?

Hell no! I don't want to see prima donna Bradley Beal anymore.

Not a chance. Poole and Beal have been about the same caliber of player, but Beal has had the benefit of being a 3rd option for half the games and a 6th man the other half. Poole has been focus of defenses the entire year.
Add in the financial difference and the awkwardness of a Beal return and it just doesnt work.
Im also not all that interested in adding another 1st for 2025. I much prefer getting a pick in 2026 to keep our pipeline staggered.

Apparently Beal's girl likes Phoenix so she will probably veto any trade, not that we'd be interested anyway.

It would have been hilarious though if the Suns had traded Beal back to the Wizards and had to give even more draft capital to do it.

They don't have enough capital of any sort for me to want to make that deal.

Those pick swaps are looking better, and better, and better. 2-8 in their last 10, 5 games off .500, falling out of the playoff hunt along with Dallas. Difficult to figure out what they will do with so much of their future leveraged? Would they trade Durant to a team that owns pick swaps or firsts that are likely to be exceptionally high in '26-'30? Trade Booker for the same? It's patently obvious that they aren't gonna win and don't have the assets to fix their problems, so they have to tank, except they can't tank because they don't own their own picks going forward, so what do they do? I'm not the sharpest tool, but I'd probably be trading these guys for picks in '25 and '26 that are going to be super high, period, what teams own picks that will likely be very high and would be foolish enough, or just win now enough to trade away such valuable assets? The only teams I can think of in '25 are OKC, San Antonio and Houston I guess? I honestly don't know what they do otherwise, this is playing out exactly (so far anyway) as some of us imagined last summer, it's hard to figure out how they won't be bottoming out by '26-'27, which should mean we can execute the '28 swap (do we have a 2nd best swap condition that year? I can't remember).

Interesting situation. For me anyway, I view that kind of situation as infinitely worse than our own. We may not come out of this epic tank attempt with roses, the lottery will determine a lot of it, but at least we have a coherent plan and strategy that makes sense. They've taken what was a good situation a few years ago, and completely torpedoed it in about 30 months or so and w/no doorway out of the mess unless they face the music immediately, and trade for lottery picks in '25 and '26 which still might not help. Tough time to be a suns fan.

As far as this epic tank goes. It reminds me of being a 5'8" young man who was afraid of getting rejected. I was a church boy virgin who had no game with girls. I had zero expectations.

Right now, I just can't see the Wizards landing Cooper Flagg.

He's just too good for this franchise.

Whoa there, cowboy! :)

This is a NEW franchise. Not the creaky old one we'd all ground our teeth on for so many years! All new. New management. New strategic outlook. New goals. New players. New world.

& this NEW franchise is the perfect place for Cooper Flagg -- for any young talent, the more outstanding the better a fit he is!

Reel him in!

I agree with Ken. Honestly I might not watch the draft lottery. I’m gonna have a heart attack. We all know we aren’t getting Flagg, or have you learned nothing from being a wizards fan. We’re getting the worst pick possible!!!

I sympathize in the girl department, but a late bloomer better than not blooming at all.

I can’t believe that fellas with tens of thousands of posts on a wizards message board are having trouble in the ladies department. I feel betrayed

Like most of you, I desperately want the Zards to get the top pick and draft Flagg. But I’m growing increasingly comfortable with the idea of adding a Harper or Bailey or VJ.

Thats how it felt watching from the later eighties, to the mid aughts or whatever other than the Kwame draft. Seemed like whatever the worst case scenario was at slot going in, we were guaranteed to do it. Shaq Draft, Webber Draft, Kid, Hill draft etc. Every single one of them, we always fell 3, if were up for the pick, hell I can still picture the TSN column from the spring of '92 or whatever talking about how we "deserved" some luck to land Shaq and of course we tumbled the max.

When I run it, we always seem to land 1 or 5 lol, every once in a while 4, not sure why I'm rarely 3 and not much more often 2, but yeah, the amount of times it hits on slot 5 is infuriating, and, well, MATH. :(

So I ran the Tankathon simulator 5 times and got:
#5
#3
#3
#5
#1

So, 60% of a good outcome but 40% of a soWizards result.

The top 4 picks are well set in my opinion (Flagg, Harper, Ace, VJ) but after that I still do not know who I’d pick…

Tre Johnson is having some offensive eye popping performances but a number of NBA draft pundits are down on his defensive capabilities. Kasparas is very meh..Murray Boyles? Can his shoot the 3?

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that we will have to trade Poole in this off-season. Trading him could generate a lot of draft picks and/or good prospects. Coveted 2025 and 2026 picks especially. It would enable us to build a team in the projected time frame where tis group is to trend upwards.I would not be surprised if we only have 2 players older than 25yo on next years team.
