Awful game and no heart tonight. I've never seen an NBA team get beaten for so many loose balls at home. Why even start Caron if he's going to give a half-ass effort? As for as the big lineup, what lineup would you go to if you are being out-quicked? The only player that should have been on the floor earlier was Dmac, but if Blatche doesn't have his head in the game, does it really matter?

Yet some people think we have an MVP and a HOF coach at our disposal.
This board has gotten to the point that people attack the poster when they disagree with his point of view.
If you say something bad about EJ or Jamison or Gilbert you're in for an attack by three or four people who tend to enjoy getting personal over an opinion they don't agree with.
The Wizards loss against the Hawks seemed to me to be a direct result of lack of continutiy and coaching. Now that Butler's back, EJ's in veteran player mode. He's going to play Butler til he breaks and he's going to play Songaila because he's a veteran.
What's missing right now is the frenetic defense and the smoothness that is apparent from players being accustomed to being out there together. DeShawn made a few nice plays defensively, but I didn't see a lot of help defense. The Wizards gave up a ton of offensive rebounds.
The thing I will flat out blame EJ for is failing to recognize a size mismatch inside against ATL. Haywood scored the first two of the second half and never even got another shot. He spent a good portion of the second half on the bench.
How a coach can have three seven footers on his bench against the Hawks is hard to fathom. What might have happened had EJ decided to go big with Blatche and Haywood? Or with OPEC at SF?
For doc, and Spence, and DCZards you can defend EJ all day long but this game IMO he sucked.

He had one play in the fourth quarter with about 4 or 5 minutes left that crushed the Wizards momentum and chances of coming back. The Wizards had just had a few stops and a couple good shots. They just cut it to 6 and had the ball. So what does Butler do? He held the ball the whole possession and threw up a fading three as the shot clock sounded.
The Wizards never recovered and the Hawks went on a run immediately after that play. Hate on me all you want but down the stretch I would have gone with Haywood, Daniels, Stevenson, Jamison, and Songaila. They've played well as a unit lately. Butler needs time to get his rythem back and until he does he should sit during the crunch time. He's a liability.
Your kidding I hope. Sure that wasnt a great choice but on a night when his shot wasnt there and coming off injury, he dished out.
8 assists, grabbed 8 boards, went 4-4 from the line and only had 1 foul and 1 turnover. The shot wasn't there but CB wasn't the reason we lost.
This was purely a coaching loss because our coach didn't adjust - again.
We could have played a bigger athletic line up then them.
Haywood was one. Mason was one. AJ was scoring.
We got beat because we didnt play a quick enough line up around them for D, rebounds, and blocks.
AD wasn't the answer tonight. Songaila in the post was defiantly not the answer. DS wasn't quick tonight. The obvious move would have been something like
BH and AB in the post but we didn't even try that.
Another option would have been BH, AB and DMAC together. It was a defensive issue and we never even gave out team a chance.
I actually felt the most energy in the first when we went to your bench.

You won't hear anything from those posters more than likely. They never post when their boys AJ and EJ suck (the majority of the games).

Interesting post don't you think? I guess it takes all kind. Guess he doesn't know DS has one of the longest streaks going in the league.

The Wiz lost because they played with a lack of urgency while the Hawks did. Games like the Clippers game is just fools gold. It only reinforces the Wizards mindset that they can play lackadaisical just about the entire game and just turn it on in the end. Well, it doesn't always work that way. That is why I was so pissed even with the Clippers win.
Tonight, the Wiz deserved to lose this game and the Hawks deserved to win it. Plain and simple.
BTW, if the Wizards don't get back to playing a least some semblance of defense, they will be fishing come middle of April.

I don't think AJ's bad most of the time and I'd give EJ a C+ this season.
My point is not to side with anybody in particular but rather speak the truth as I see it.
Tonight I thought EJ sucked.
Jamsion got a lot of loose balls inside and converted near the hoop. If AJ doesn't play reasonably well I think the Wizards might have gotten blown out.

A few months ago. I have been noticing the decrease in the defensive effort effort for a while now. They are a shade of the defensive team that they were earlier in the season (Boston games, Dallas games, etc).

Poll of wiz board regulars. Is this (and other posts in this thread) trolling?
