No actually when I was in Oregon in the early nineties I got jumped by a nazi skinhead in Portland who was six inches taller and about 40 lbs heavier. Two bikers with the nazi guy allegedly held their hands to their vests to where their alleged terrifying weapons were which is why the six hippies I was with DID NOT RAISE A FINGER TO HELP ME.

Survived only because the skinhead had no idea what the hell he was doing. Spent most of the fight sitting on top of me, trying to choke me to death, which is easy enough to counter by putting your chin on your shoulder. I almost got out from under him when he tried to gouge my eyes out - I got one of my hands around his trachea but he managed to pull back in time.

The only reason I took up martial arts as a teen was to stop fighting and I guess it worked. Although the main reason I stopped fighting is we all just grew out of it. Nobody fights in their forties. Still go back to that place in my mind sometimes. Training helps.

Zonk, dont take any of what I'm about to say personally, but you don't look like a real man. That beard, which you think makes you like a Navy SEAL or an MMA cage fighter, makes you look more like a Writing Seminar professor. Do you drive a Volvo station wagon?

Again, I don't mean any of this as disrespect, but you need to take a good long hard look in the mirror and reevaluate your entire life.

Saturday night - about 11:45 p.m. -- ESPN2

My alma mater, Hawai'i, is playing UC Irvine for the Big West Conference Tourney Championship. Irvine has a player, Mamadou Ndaye , who is 7'6". I wonder if he's related to former Wizard Hamady N'Daiye?

Here in Hawaii Time Warner Cable and/or ESPN3 kept the feed on shiddy SF Austin vs Sam Houston for almost 20 minutes of clock time!

The score was UH 20 and UC Irvine 10 before local coverage cut over.

WTF!

I am still steamed over that.

The rest of the first half has been all UCI.

There are a ton of N'Daiyes, pine.

Like Parks in Korea, or Smith or Jones in the US; I have heard of at least 3 other N'Daiyes who play basketball.

OK. I am very lucky and relieved after having my new-ish and first smart phone returned to me after I stupidly
left it at my seat at Phone Booth Saturday night. So what app should I install as a 'find my phone' app and
what it the best procedure to back up things like my address book in case I get really stupid again?
My phone is a Samsung Note 3.

I love that show. Easily my favorite show at the moment(at least until Game of Thrones returns). Did you see Tony Kornheiser's brief cameo? Think it was in episode 2 or 3.

Loved the recent warm weather...so why is it cold again? :(

Ha! I missed Tony's cameo. GOT is my favorite show too, enjoyable in a different way.

I don't watch much college hoops during the regular season. Probably didn't see even one game this year. The tournament is on in my office with the sound down and...I haven't missed much. Quality of play is not so good. Do the coaches have even a vague sense of creating an offense that can actually attack a zone defense? There are gaps and holes everywhere in the games I've seen, and the players are flummoxed.

One guy dribbles close to the defense...and backs it out. Then he waves in the air in something that looks like he might be calling a play. And then they pass it back and forth a few times. Then he dribbles some more, maybe edging toward the defense only to back it out again. Then he gives it to a teammate who dribbles for awhile. And backs it out again. Then they throw it to someone who flings a shot at the basket.

Sometimes after all the dribbling and backing out, one guy "creates" a shot by driving.

These college coaches make Randy Wittman look like a genius.

Which game are/were you watching? I couldn't really watch the Notre Dame game. VCU/Ohio State seems to have better ball movement.

I saw some of the Notre Dame game. Also some Butler. And whatever else they were showing on CBS. Didn't seem to matter what game I was watching. Just seemed like there was an awful lot of backing it out to reset the offense going on.

Yeah, people don't really watch the tourney for quality basketball. They watch it for the dramatic moments and the atmosphere/excitement of college basketball and the fans and all that jazz.
