No, not really. & it wasn't particularly close. Good as he was at his peak, overall John Wall was never on a tier with Chris Paul, Steph Curry, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard, Kyle Lowry, or Mike Conley -- though of course Wizards fans are likely to claim otherwise.

Tremendous player all the same.

Wall DOMINATED Lowry in a playoff series that we swept Toronto. We suffered because EG had no clue how to build a roster. Our roster was top heavy and our coach refused to build a bench.

To be fair, Lowry was playing hurt (bad back). But then again, Lowry is often hurt by the time the playoffs come around.

John Wall was a tremendously gifted player. I say "was" only b/c of time & injuries. Certainly he was one of the most exciting players in the league to watch.

In fact, looking back at that season --2014-15 -- I do think John had a better year than Lowry. So, my mistake. Overall, Lowry has been the better player.

& of course, for most of the rest of the guys on that list -- CP3, Steph, Harden, Westbrook & Lillard -- it really isn't close.

I don't know about y'all, but I was silently hoping he'd come back for 2.0

I'll probably watch more Clips games than Wiz games this year. Super excited to see how John integrates with that squad and hope he doesn't burn his opportunity by being a poor fit.

I was fascinated about the possibility of him coming here but definitely unsure how
it might work out. Happy for John that he will have an opportunity to play.
So the questions become:
1. how much of his physical gifts remain?
2. how well will he shoot

I'm glad he's not coming back here. He is a bad leader and a bad fit, given his age and need to dominate the ball. I do think he might fit in pretty well with the Clippers. Ty Lue can probably keep him in line and get him to play D.

That's the way I feel too.

Clearly we're not a championship contender so with that being said, at least entertain me. :D

No way he was coming back here after they threw him under the bus for throwing a gang sign up in a Snapchat video, or whatever unforgivable crime he was accused of

You would think so but it was reported a few months ago John actually wanted to come back to DC.

Personally, I would give Ted a middle finger and keep moving.

2015 was also the season that Wall suffered that wrist injury.

I feel the very same way. He would be better for what this team needs than Bradley because he is a point guard who can distribute the basketball.

As it is I think hes going to have a really good year for the Clippers. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard as teammates will enjoy his contributions. I think 32-33 years and having had no run last season will temper his resolve.

Wall could play better now, even without uber-athleticism. His perimeter shot has evolved. He's still a gifted passer. He's probably stronger than ever.

John has come through a lot. It would be great to see him add a solid last chapter to his NBA career!

When John admitted to almost being "suicidal" it took my mind so many places.

I just wish he could understand that going through the worst can enable you and empower you to see each blessing. He's been too focused on expectations.

I hope he will embrace the good. Help someone else.

There's been others (pif, doclinkin, and here in Hawaii a couple people) who haven't let me lose focus of goodness.

We are not alone. Our presence blesses others. WE HAVE MUCH TO OFFER.

John I hope learns his smile can encourage. Just a random word of encouragement to someone else can affirm.

If he never does a darn thing on the court SO WHAT?

The main thing is get all the mental health assistance you need. Sometimes a person can make a huge difference. I know. A counselor. A benefactor. Someone who can clean up when you're not up. Someone who can remind you of wise choices.

John I hope doesn't isolate. I'm praying that God will reveal himself in John.

A thought is just a thought but checking out is NOT an option.

If it's clear the wizards have 0 chance in the play offs I'm absolutely cheering for John to join the former wizards with a ring club
