Pretty wide range. Do you think we are better than we were last year at 32 wins?

On paper we're not but I anticipate this team being more hungry than last years. Ish Smith isn't much worse than Sato. Isaiah Thomas may be able to bring consistent scoring to the 2nd unit and we have more younger prospects who might turn into something. Also Ernie being gone is a weight off the entire franchise too. My biggest concern next year is Scott Brooks not giving young players proper playing time.

That goes without saying... and Ish Smith is solidly worse than Sato.

Why do we keep on insisting Brown play SF? If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, etc..; then probably a duck.

Brown is guard. sheesh...

Dat2U keeping it real, as usual.

I agree that .500 basketball is a near impossibility for this team. All I'm saying is that we might be better than a 20-win embarrassment. If you have a bunch of guys who play hard every night, and you have a high usage scorer who can score with efficiency, you can beat a lot of bad teams and tired teams playing back-to-backs. I think the team can get to 25-30 wins - particularly if they add one more competent veteran forward.

You make a real good point about it being a long season though. It's easy, at the start of the season, to discuss a temporary tank-and-reload plan and stay positive about the whole thing. But in March, when the team is approaching 50 losses, Beal may no longer be such a happy warrior. That's an issue to monitor.

I don't know why everybody is so negative & upset. It's just a matter of perspective: for example there will be many stretches in which we are a .500 team for at least 2 games.

Not just that, but there will be literally dozens of situations in which we are undefeated for short stretches of one game.

What's the problem?

Whoa, extra spicy snark in that one.

What's up my brother? Tired from an especially patriotic independence day extravaganza? Bearings off because you rented a Lear jet to chase the solstice around the equator? Couldn't sleep because visions of Jemerio Jones gobbling up rebounds during summer league kept your mind racing?

I kid, of course, cuz I love.

What "snark"? I was serious!

I'm glad to be getting the reputation here of being a crotchety old guy -- beats being thought an a$$hole, which I was for a while. But the best thing about it is...
Spoiler:
...you get to be an a$$hole, & people just think you're a crotchety old guy. :)

Geez, I thought Raptor fans were annoying but Beal's twitter feed has become infested with thirsty Miami fans wanting to make this stupid rumor a thing. :-?

You mean, a duck can play the 3 on this team :D

Which means this is brilliant - we can move Ish Smith over to the three :D

...especially an Oregon Duck like Brown.

But seriously though, I expect Brown to play a lot of PG and SG. But he'll need to get PT at SF as well, because that's where he'll be playing when he's sharing the court with Wall and Beal.

I think the goal for this season is to not be eliminated by Feburary. If the Wizards are sitting at say, 24-33 in March, that's a 30ish win pace, but there's also a tiny bit ofhope and the games are still semi-meaningful. Much different than say, 17-39

I could see RH-J, but I want no part of the rest of that list!

Well I actually like Quinn Cook, I know he wasn't on the main list. I also like zubac and Stanley Johnson on a small deal wouldn't be trash. I also wouldn't mind going after M.Chriss

I really don't see the Wiz keeping Beal given what they have been doing. They have torn this team apart.
