The Wizards need to figure out how to get Magic involved in the organization. Doesn't matter what role. Just get him in there. He knows what a successful basketball organization is, and he'll be good for the bottom line.

magic would be:
- great PR
- good player relations
- weird figurehad
- iffy player development
- doesn't want the job
- too busy with other business endeavors anyway.

Phil Chenier doesn't have the national name recognition, but if we were to reach out to a former player to get involved, it'd would have been him. Has strong ties to the organization and the city. Smart guy. Will commit and show up to work. Too bad he's in his 70's and we missed the boat.

No other former wizards really fit that bill. We definitely don't have any former players from the last 20 years that qualify. If the Wizards want to promote from within, the only guy I can see transitioning into a front office role is maybe Beal.

Same thing with the Commanders. Ownership has 1) alienated former players; 2) has not been stable enough to develop network; 3) no current prospects.
