Now that Portland has traded McCollum, they will trade Lillard and end up with Simmons, I'd bet.

Wiz will end up either paying Beal his money or he will be traded for pennies on the dollar to Boston (Marcus Smart and 2 picks, maybe), after a sign and trade. Either way, Wiz will be chasing after the 8th or 10th seed instead of tearing it down fully.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

Portland isn’t trading Lillard.

I will bet my house that the Wizards have told Beals agent that they will re-build around him and that he will get the Super Max this Summer.

Im all about trading Beal, but pulling a PDX and shipping off all other parts for assets would be welcome.
Harrell, Bryant, KCP, Dinwiddie, etc... Even Rui or Kuzma in the right package.

The biggest impediment (Outside of Terd) is Dinwiddie. If he hadnt completely fallen off in the last month, then he, Harrell, and Kuz would of been interesting assets in trades.

If we had hit on one guy from the Deni/Rui draft, that could have been us making that move with Indiana.

Wow. Essentially, Haliburton alone was worth Sabonis.

Good! As the market dries up for bringing in older win-now talent to the Wizards, perhaps the powers that be will decide to trade Beal, and not do us a Mahinmi out of desperation.

Let's hope the Jerami Grant domino falls so we don't make any stupid mistakes there. That'll just leave Beal for Simmons as the only viable offseason possibility.

I would have been fine with Beal involved in the trade but I'm sure they wanted younger talent as well. Sabonis is 25 and a two-time All-Star. It would have been interesting to see how he fit, but at this point, just fold the f-ing tent and try and get as many first-round picks and youngsters you can collect for KCP, Trez/Bryant, Kuz for the right deal, etc. I know we're stuck with Bertans and Dinwiddie for now.

I think Harden for Simmons is already a done deal since we are dragging our feet on Beal. They are just working on the particulars. So there's that. Maybe Tommy was finally given the green light and after Sabonis was dealt today, Beal will also say f-ck it. Just trade me.

Time to overpay for Grant lmao

I mean...he doesn't move the needle at all really. At least Sabonis is a hail mary.

Man. well, there goes that.
I just don't see a path to relevancy here. Sabonis would have been a positive. now we're still stuck with a slew of guys who appear to NOT want to play together or for this coach.
Maybe Sheppard has a trick up his sleeve; he's made a bunch of surprising moves that many of us thought were very smart.
but this current group is getting WHACKED every night.
and they don't seem to care.

Picking Haliburton instead of Deni was what the vast majority of people paying attention would have done.

Rui, at the time was more supportable, IMO.

Man... If they overpay for Grant Im done.
Dinwiddie, KCP, Bryant, and Rui
for
Grant, KO, Joseph, and Livers

They get expirings and legit prospect while getting off of KO's remaining 2 years.
