I might put Safety over CB since they have what they hope to be a solid group in Lattimore/Sanristil/Igbo, but they lost Chinn. And given Deebo's playmaking ability, I'm leaning towards hoping for this on draft night:

1. Edge
2. Safety
3. OL depth

I do think they have to also replace what Zaccheus brought, but they might be able to fill that with a signing or cheap trade around cutdown day.

From everything I've read Edge and RB are areas of focus in the upcoming draft.

You just have a bad memory. There was someone here (Tyrone Messby?) who was saying Jayden would be special long before the draft. There were people on youtube saying Jayden was special before the draft. Here's one of them:

So inst as of debating any of the points I made. You post a video of a guy saying Caleb Williams is better than Jayden Daniels? Just because he used the word special doesn't mean he predicted this. Any one who says they did is a bold faced liar. You had people live on ESPN and FS1 predicting the bears could make win play off games with Caleb. Not one soul was thinking Jayden was gonna pull the commanders out the mud the way he did, and I was on the Jayden train if we kept the pic. I made pasta about how the bears would be smart to not take Caleb. But come on, we can be happy that we ended up with maybe the heir to the goat throne. But still be realistic about what the situation was then.

The only valid point you have is the one on your hat. QB is the most important position in football by a mile. When you have a chance to take a franchise QB you take it, you don't trade down. This is basic common sense. Just look at all the teams looking around desperately for a QB.

You were so far off base you said we should punt on drafting a QB last year, in a historically strong QB draft, and draft one this year instead.

The Commanders success wasn't all Jayden. Peters signed a lot of good players under the radar which also contributed. Biadisz, Luvu, Wagner etc.

The incompetence in Chicago is a separate issue.
The issue is it's flawed logic.

We got lucky and got the absolute best outcome of a situation.

So since I at times backed an alternative option At the time. That's used to say that when I say the WR core not being upgraded enough, why sign Mcnichols, I think we are over paying on these trades, well gamby you don't know what you're talking about you wanted to trade the pick we used to take Jayden Daniels.

Which mind you had a solid argument behind it. Build the team then target the QB position.
I'm fine sucking for two years if it got a shot at Arch Manning. Turns out JD was that guy and peters did a historically good job turning a team around personnel wise. I'm happy they exceeded expectations and I wouldn't change that pick for the world now.

I did infact suggest that. I was very high on SS and Cam. Still am. I was a little higher on drew A than I should have been to be fair. But I was firm on Jayden at 2 of we keept the pick being clear if the bears where smart they would have picked Maye or Daniels.

It's the same argument the TT are facing right now. Over draft cam cuz of need or take the best player available. Or are they gonna trade back?

The bears are gonna be the bears I don't think all that OL over haul is gonna save them from Caleb just not having that dog in him that JD has.

TTs dilemma right now is EXACTLY why it was imperitive that we stay at 2 and take a quarterback in a historically strong QB draft since opportunities like that don't come up often.

Even if we drafted Maye instead of Daniels it would have been far better than punting and hoping we get the chance to draft a QB down the road. That would have been epically stupid.

On a 53 man roster not everyone is going to be a difference maker. There will be a lot of jags and they have scouted these guys extensively. Watching you criticize these routine signings day after day as if you are some expert gets tiresome.

LSU alum so pretty in tune with LSU football, basketball, and baseball prospects  I’ve had to endure some really poor QB play in my lifetime between the Skins and Tigers and Burrow and Jayden were just an absolute cut above anything I’ve seen. Jayden made the same massive leap that Burrow did his second year at LSU and they both have insane work ethics. Knew he’d be special and was so stoked the Bears were dumb enough to select Caleb. Jayden’s one weakness is his build. Other than that he has all the makings of being a phenom. I still think he’s the upgraded version of Lamar and soon he will be the standard that everyone is measured against. Just keep him healthy and we are going to see some real glory years.

Oh and I’m still pissed the Wiz didn’t draft Naz Reid when they had the chance. Perfect big for this new age bball. Probably would’ve traded him anyway though I guess

You're argument is sound I just don't necessarily agree with it.

But as for me complaining lol .I've taking issue with 4 of the 20+ signings RS and trades this off-season. I've been talked in to John Bates even if I'm still not thrilled about it. Brown And Oz are just bodies I don't see why we should waste money on those two and Mcnichols is just a silly waste of time and money. Again I get it they did a good job. But we need upgrades at the skill position and we haven't really done that. I think we should be taking chances on young talent and drafting those replacements. I don't hate the trades I just feel like we paid 1.15 instead of the dollar we should have paid. That will bite you in the ass eventually. The rest of the off season. I pretty much loved or at least agreed with.

Time for another addition of
BOY DO I HAVE A GUY FOR YOU!

KADEN PRATHER
WR MD
6'4 204 40T: 4.4
2023 rec 42 yards 666 TD 5
2024 rec 56 yards 624 TD 4

Big, fast, skilled
He's got good hands and really strong focus. He has a good mind for the game. He's physical and smart. A willing and bale blocker in the run game. Big time vertical player and a good team guy .
Reminds me of mentally stable George Pickens.
He's projected to be around on day 2 of not day three and should absolutely be a target of a team like the commanders looking for an affordable big body WR
He's knocked for his other measurables and some of his other combine numbers aren't good. But if you want him play he gets it and he can play foot ball. In the 4th or 6th round if hes still around, he's be a great pick up.

Interesting that we passed on signing Fowler to a shorter/cheaper deal and splurged on Kinlaw. Will be interesting to see how that one plays out.
