This is insanely dumb. Just stop.

The dossier is not the only part of the FISA application for Carter Page. The rest of it wasn't released! That's why Nunes refers to it as 'an essential part' and not 'the only part' of the application.

And, again, the dossier has largely been corroborated, and very little of it has turned out to be incorrect.

You were tricked here because you're extremely biased and want things one way.

You have to believe that Nunes is blatantly lying about something that is sure to be verified sooner or later to believe that the FISA report didn't depend on the Dossier.

And please, illuminate me. What has been "largely corroborated" about the Dossier? Is there any corroboration of Trump's golden showers with Russian prostitutes? Is there any proof of multimillion dollar bribes? Do you really believe that Russia started a relationship with Trump in freaking 2011 because they predicted that he would one day run for President? Donald Trump, the reality show host, a President? LOL.

Pretty sure Slate was the source of one of your screeds about brain circumference of black people, so I assume you trust the veracity of Slate's reporting.

Christopher Steele himself said that some of the information in his own dossier was raw an unverified.
https://archive.fo/xOuY1

And Comey said it was salacious and unverified

And McCabe allegedly said that the warrant would have been obtained with out it.

And the Slate source you cite uses the Yahoo article as a way to verify Steele's dossier, an article that was generated from leaked information from Steele.

k

So when the information is unverified should the FBI be like, "hmmm well this information is unverified so we better not investigate!"

Like, the point of the investigation is to verify the information...

And again, for the millionth time, per Nunes' memo, the one you're holding up as sacrosanct, there were multiple sources of information driving the FISA application, but only one of them has been identified because Nunes is selectively releasing information to trick people into believing a made-up narrative.

Oh, and here we have Nate, as usual, selectively using sources of information he previously disparaged as fake news when what they're saying fits his narrative.

it is looking more and more like this is the case. and quoting Mccabe, (under oath) "without the "dossier, there would be no FISA warrant"

also, nothing in this memo damages our national security. So why were Comey, Wren, All democrats, et al. pushing that false narrative for the past week???? Why prevent the release of the memo??? And hide behind national security???

Yeah, but that seems to contradict with the fact that Page was under investigation since 2013.

Its not like he suddenly joined the Trump campaign and the authorities said "Oh, he's with Trump now. Let's get a FISA warrant on him!"

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

The FBI can investigate whatever it wants But whatever the FBI is investigating, the FBI absolutely can NOT go get an illegal warrant based on false information unless imminent grave danger exists, like a terrists attack. even then, they have a protocol.

In this case, a few FBI official like Ohr knew this information was being cooked up by Steele via Fusion.

Come on man. All american should agree on this. this is bad. Right now its a few bad apples. Investigate and indict those bad apples and see if they point finger to a larger conspiracy. If this is small, fine. If not, let the chips fall where they may.

there should be NO DEFENSE of what happened though. the ends do not justify the means. Even if Trump ends up a bad president (which he is not..far from it so far). But even if he was, the ends do not justify the means. The FBI can NOT subvert and pervert justice like this. And in this case, elections. the goal was to subvert democracy.

i mean your post in bold just screams someone that does NOT understand the law. how it works. and how it is properly manipulated. and improperly manipulated.

in this case, it was BRAZENLY improperly manipulated. they thought HRC would win and were not concerned with repurcussions at all.

Comey's tweet. he is the former top cop. and he is not concerned about the subversion of the law at all. he is instead concerned about the FBI's future ability to subvert the law. and I get it. Like i said a million times. Its a dirty job. All of these jobs are dirty. But this time they got caught being dirty with their hands in the cookie jar of a capable billionaire. They phucked up. And now they will pay. and they dont want to face repurcussions. So they claim this "harms justice." When in fact it just harms them. The justice system and the FBI will survive all of this. These "bad apples" will not. Lets see if these bad apples point any fingers.

i'll add that the GOP and Trump will drop all of this in a heartbeat. All they have to do is come clean on the Russian collusion investigation. If they have it? drop it now. and lets get on with impeaching trump. if they dont, let it go now. its that simple.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

Certain Republicans are desperate to get public support for their belief that the methods used to start the Russian investigation were done in an incorrect or corrupt manner. And the information needed to get out to the public quickly.

Why couldn't it wait for the Minority's version of the FISA application? Why couldn't a Congressional investigation have taken
place before the memo came out? To me, the urgency stems from the fact that Mueller has requested Trump to be interviewed soon and the last thing that these Republicans want is for Trump to speak under oath.

From a public standpoint, it doesn't appear that this memo is going to sway people from one side or the other. We all have our beliefs and we all think that the other side's beliefs are tainted.

But I have been bringing this up for almost 10 months. They laughed at it then. And now continue to laugh at it eventhough, at this point, Congress has now put their name on it. This is significant. Congress' name is now on this memo/evidence. Our lawmakers, indeed the very body that writes our federal laws, put their name on this evidence.

Congress also has oversight of the entire executive branch has scolded the FBI in this particular memo/evidence. Congress is FORCED to act now. The american people will demand it. There will be severe consequences.

Correction. "Congress" has not put it's name on the memo and the info in it. A handful of members of Congress, all of them Republicans, have "put their name" on this memo. So don't get it twisted.

There are even some Repubs who are opposed to the memo, it's release and the way it cherry picks information to discredit the FBI and the Russian investigation. In fairness, shouldn't we wait until the release of the Dems response to the Nunes' memo (assuming that is allowed to happen) before we take this partisan memo as the gospel?

a handful?? really??

So little more than 10% of Congress were on board with the release of the memo. Like I said "a handful."

it is my understanding that these FISA warrants expire. If nothing is discovered under the initial warrant. So in the time between 2013-2018 there has been no indictments on Carter Page for anything. Let that settle in. This is a guy who has done business in russia. No indictments. So why the FISA???

and it is so easy to slip up and do something stupid. even lying to the FBI. I guess Page was smart enough to NOT talk to the FBI.

Republican Gov. John Kasich (Ohio) on Friday condemned the release of a House Intelligence Committee memo which alleges the Justice Department abused its powers to hurt President Trump's campaign.

Kasich called the release of the memo a “disservice to our country,” and that holding the FBI and Justice Department accountable should be a bipartisan responsibility, not one for “political gain.”

“While we must maintain oversight of these institutions, it has to be done in a bipartisan manner,” Kasich said in the statement. “The manner in which this was done was wrong and does a disservice to our country.”

Releasing the Nune's memo is like the Supreme Court only issuing a Majority Ruling!
This will come back to haunt the GOP!

thats just spin. Democrats are not interested in the truth at this point in time. they only want to take down trump. Proof is in this very thread. Completely divided. Even all the so called independents were the judge and jury on this memo before it even came out.

the media has effectively divided us. The 2 parties of Congress has obliged their respective bases.

No further proof than the fact that articles of impeachment have been drawn up twice already on trump in the house. With no evidence of any wrong doing at all. just a partisan vote. just attempting to get more and more traction. To subvert the will of the american people. one more chink in the armour. death of a thousand cuts.

thats all any of this is. its all a partisan witch hunt. And Trump and the GOP has learned how to fight back. Like i said last month, the man has found his sea legs.

recall that this memo is nothing more than a compilation of various investigations and testimony. This is NOT a result of Nunes' investigation. rather a summary of many investigations.

Keep in mind that Devin Nunes authored most/all of the current FISA law. Nunes also serves as oversight for FISA abuse. So this is a FISA abuse memo. Written by none of other than the chair of FISA oversight.

It's a difficult scenario.

There are clearly several people in the FBI and holdovers from Justice who have an animosity towards Trump. We already have evidence of intentional omissions of vital information in the FISA warrant, not to mention the horrible Strzok/Page texts which show clear bias and partisanship in the FBI. I think McCabe is compromised as well given all the money he has taken from the Clintons and his central role in this FISA fiasco.

Sessions needs to get these people out of here, but when he does, the media will cry foul and start saying this is all obstruction of justice.

For now, I'll be patient. There are other investigations going on, particularly the Inspector General investigation that will shed more light on the matter.
