Re: Official Trade Thread Part XLVI
The problem with almost anyone is they don't have salaries to match except by sending the Lakers players they don't want . . . for example Beal and 2 1sts for LeBron might work and I'd like to see LeBron and Durant play together. I just don't think the Lakers and LeBron would be happy with that return despite his age.

Very few win now teams have a need for a 40-year-old ball dominant player who takes plays off on defense, while having the contracts to match salaries and the young players/picks to match value.
I’m guessing there might be some win-now teams that would be interested in an all-time great who is averaging 24 pts., 9 assists, almost 8 boards and is shooting 38% from 3.
Not to mention that he’s in better condition than many 30 yr players….and has maybe the highest bball IQ ever.
A team like GS would take LeBron in a heartbeat. Imagine him setting up Steph for open shots. Problem is GS probably doesn’t have anything/anyone that the Lakers would want or salaries to match.
GS is literally the only team I can think of where it could make sense.
Other win-now teams like Milwaukee and Phoenix don't have the assets to make it worthwhile for the Lakers. And younger win-now teams like Cleveland, Boston and OKC don't have the contracts to balance salaries without giving up good young talent. I also question whether those teams would be willing to downgrade their defense to add Lebron when they don't really need a lot of help offensively anyhow.

Fortunately, Kuz had a reasonably good game against the Timberwolves.

It's crazy that Luka got traded for a pick and AD, but the Warriors deemed guys like Podz and Kuminga untouchable in trades. I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all when it comes to how the Lakers always manage to come out ahead, but its the stupid mindset that a team like the Warriors have where the they're playing chess but the Lakers are playing checkers.

I'm not gonna give the Lakers credit for every single veteran free agent putting LA #1 on his list so he can live the beach life, and hook up with C list celebrites. I'm not gonna give the Lakers credit for the Mavericks GM being a mentally deranged, shoe sales man with delusions of grandeur. I'm not gonna give them credit for swindling empty ownership teams, and league commish's for cake trades, or for getting Kobe because he didn't want to live in Charlotte etc.
I'll give you credit when you are a genius, and the rest of the players in the league are asleep, like Jimmy and Herschel Walker etc or when you just make whipsmart intelligent decisions like Dallas did in drafting Doncic etc. Insightfulness, sure, but having Gold Bars fall out of the sky and onto your backyard lawn isn't genius, it's blind luck.

So I posted some stuff about how we help the buck dip under the second app.
This is how something like this could work. We absorb pat for them
Then They can trade livingsonton who's be pretty bad.
This gets them under the second apron. And allows the. To them put together other trades.
What assets could we get in this they have a 2031 first a 2031 second the rights to Hugo besson and they can double up some pick swaps

There isn't time to flip Butler if we trade for him. You have to wait 60 days. Besides, there's no chance we would take on Butler's attitude when we are so far away from a win-now stance. It's a recipe for disaster.
It's certainly possible for us to be involved as a 3rd team to absorb salary in a Butler trade, but I'm 100% sure we won't be taking on Butler.

You don't have to wait 60 days. You have to wait 60 days to aggregate him with another player to the same place. But you can trade for him today then trade him again tomorrow.nate33 wrote:gambitx777 wrote:Wiz trade for buttler. Then flip him calling it now

To be fair the dead lines getting close so could they yes, do they have time to negotiate, that's getting less likely.

Could be Walker Kessler, Jonas or Robert Williams III? Question is: bad contract for how many draft assets?
We could do Gabe Vincent for Jonas but what would we get in return? If they would give up their '31 FRP, fine. I just don't see that happening.
"I think" that Jonas will have more value next year?
Edit: Adding Nick Claxton.

Re: Official Trade Thread Part XLVI
So question we take Jimmy to try and flip him.
Wiz get Jimmy.
Heat get: Brogdon, holes, Bagley, Baldwin and the rights to Noza.
So where could we flip Jimmy?
Bucks? Maybe
But would we consider trading him to the suns and taking beal back if beal would waive the NTC.
For all the picks they have left? Would it be worth it? We have the flexibility. Would it be worth soaking how ever many picks to take him back. It will only be about a year till he's tradable again. You have to spend that money any way. Premium Free agents aren't coming here for at least a couple years. This seasons tabk is effectively done even if beal played there isn't enough to be done to loose our position at the bottom.by the time we have to start extending Bilal and Sarr, beal will be gone or traded again.
Also how absolutely funny would it be to win the trade where we sent beal away for nothing lol then soak them for all the assets to take him back lol.

I assume JV will be in the deal? That matches the salary just about perfect and they are thin at center. But that doesn't work money wise unless we take pats contract first.
Kuz and Johnny Davis Works. But I can't see them

Re: Official Trade Thread Part XLVI
Reading on reddit, apparently if we trade Kuzma and JV for Khris and Pat, it gets the Bucks under the 2nd apron. I would assume Dawkins/Winger will ask for the '31 pick, perhaps top 1 protected or something. There's no way I would accept 2nd round picks.

Correct. We take on Pat (Gafford TPE), get the Bucks under the second apron. We then send them Kuz + JV/Holmes for Middleton (And Beauchamp) plus asset.
