Well it’s obviously too late but I gotta believe a lot
of people who think of themselves as moderate pubs are
thinking I didn’t vote for for this.

A lot of what we call 'thought' is just mental activity
When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression
Those who are convinced of absurdities, can be convinced to commit atrocities

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIII
I'm the Board Chair of a soup kitchen. If the cuts go through, many non-profits like us would have a hard time surviving unless are private donations greatly increased. We get:
a grant from the Emergency Food and Shelter Program
two of our 4 paid workers are paid through a federal program called Maturity Works
much of our food is free from Connecticut Foodshare, which gets a lot of food through federal programs
But I don't think the cuts will go through. The cuts aren't popular and will be tied up in the courts.
But the amazing thing is how many homeless people and food insecure, are Trump supporters. The attitude is that there's waste and corruption. They think they're deserving of aid from government programs, but others are abusing the system.

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics — quote popularized by Mark Twain.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIII
It's remarkable to me how bloodthirsty and callous Trump is to his own constituents. COVID killed primarily Trump voters. Shutting down vaccines and cancer research will do the same. The freeze on indirect aid - aid that goes to states rather than individuals - will primarily hurt red states, who are the biggest net recipients of federal aid. Apparently Trump supporters just want blood, and they don't mind if it's their own.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I see no deterrence to their impending reign.pancakes3 wrote:i assume there's a fair share of fed workers on this board, and yall are going through it right now. i can't imagine being put into that situation. from what i've heard from friends, you all got a mass email about voluntary resignation? the accompanying memo's metadata shows that it was directly from project 2025?
it's insanity.
i've heard some people say "lol, good luck to the MAGA cultists who replace these workers, they'll find out how hard it is to govern."
no they won't, you idiots. their incompetence is the point. the administrative state has one task - enforce regulations. if the project 2025 replacements are incompetent, that means there is no enforcement. it'll be capitalistic lawlessness, which, again, is the point.
People will be forced to look within.
I learned that EVERYTHING CAN BE TAKEN FROM YOU.
I was a college facilitator of mathematics with Hawaii Pacific University. My credit score was near 800. I was a homeowner along with a wife. I was heavily involved as a team parent/school chaperone. I later substitute taught. All was good until tyranny entered my life.
I found myself homeless. Broke. Lost custody after a false accusation that left me having post-arrest panic attacks, depression, and a lot of anger and confusion. I didn't see or hear from my kids for 10 years. THE BAD PEOPLE ACHIEVED THEIR GOALS. As far as I can see.
I think a lot of people are going to be hurt by Project 2025. The Trump blitzkrieg will do like that Monty Python Dennis Moore hook,
"Steal from the poor and give to the rich, Stupid Bitch".
I'm ranting. All I can say is practice gratitude regardless. The fascist storm troop tactics might really affect adversely.
You WILL survive. You will thrive. Evil won't win, but you may require patience in suffering
Or, get a passport and book out....

To the PA lady in closgoo’s post, you probably are not rich enough
to get away with Nazi salutes.

I can get an Iranian passport but I'm pretty sure that would do more harm than good for the next 4 years.
Pros and cons.

Shocked, who didn’t see this coming a mile a way. Adams is transitioning to the easiest grift there is in the game, sucking up to Dear Leader.

Yeah, I asked my organization to permit me to move to Ohio to be closer to my 84 year old mother who has had cancer three times and they agreed to it. Trump wants to yank that agreement away, which is unfortunate for me because my situation hasn't changed and I can't move.
