Yeah, I asked my organization to permit me to move to Ohio to be closer to my 84 year old mother who has had cancer three times and they agreed to it. Trump wants to yank that agreement away, which is unfortunate for me because my situation hasn't changed and I can't move.

Sorry to hear boss... you sound like a good son.

And here I thought you moved to Ohio to be closer to Nate33.

I should have known, early this morning on C-Span a MAGA caller baselessly threw out that perhaps DEI was responsible for the plane/Helicopter collision, these MAGA are brainless automatons who repeat whatever they hear their “talk show” hosts repeating. Sure enough, later this morning, the racist and gaslighting speculation about DEI being somehow responsible is the early talking point with R politicians and Trump himself putting it out there to assist in distracting from this administration possibly being responsible for anything, these people are disgusting POS’s, listen to the early discussion here.

I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times - How stupid do Republicans think we are?

I was going to put this down as a horrible disaster brought about by a long standing policy of letting the military do whatever the hell it wants, safety be damned, but now I have to wonder what the Republicans had to do with it if they're so desperate to blame it on someone else?

media focusing on Trump's comments about DEI vs the actual causes like not enough air traffic controllers, or what military operation was being conducted by the helicopter, etc. is deeply irresponsible and the antithesis of journalism.

Republicans messaging is 100% for their rubes, they will believe and repeat any talking-point they put out.

My wife just reminded me that last night while we were watching this story unfold
I predicted Golfy would say/do something totally stupid in response.

FWIW, I'm NOT claiming any great insight here. Of course Golfy was going to say
and/or do something stupid and/or inappropriate in response. He honestly doesn't
know any different way to behave.

If it's something good, he'll try to take credit. If it's something bad, he'll blame someone
or something else.

Honestly there is something wrong in our national psyche that we, as a country
or a significant part thereof, can't detect this kind of BS.

Well it's always scary when someone goes silent after the inauguration. I really hope monte wasn't deported or sent to MAGA political prison.

It didn't take Hegseth long to screw up in a disrespectful way.

The armed services have strict rules about announcing the deaths of active
members of the service. Hegseth appears to have violated this by announcing
information about the 3 service members in the helicopter that were killed
in the collision last night.

This is about basic propriety.

(speaking of which)
And apparently Trump started cursing at the end of the presser this morning following the
accident last night. It was reportedly not particularly decorous behavior.

But I'm sure he'll cut inflation.

By the way, their hotline to rat out DEI employees apparently got some interesting submissions.

The pilot using NVG and flying under VFR was most likely distracted in a way that he didn’t maintain visual separation. Spatial disorientarion is what caused a Blackhawk crash near where I live on Oahu in 2018.

The helicopter apparently didn't see the descending plane as there was another plane nearby. Seems hard to fathom, but this was a training mission, and I heard an experienced pilot mention there's usually two crew Chiefs.

I'm speculating here on realgm.

I'm not spreading DEI hate speech like Hegspeth and POTUS. They put politics over compassion for the families and friends of the victims. In ignorance, they rush to judgment.

One good thing is they've shown just how stupid and callous they are.

What were they doing, conducting a training missing (1) in an active commercial flight path; (2) that close to the nation's capital?

None of it makes sense.
