I'll make my prediction after the Nick Young situation is resolved.

Just a reminder every one, the season is 66 games. The W's and L's need to sum 66.

I'm thinking about 20-46. I might go one or two in either direction based on what goes down over the next two weeks, but I'll leave that as my official choice if I'm too lazy to come back in and edit things before then.

5 more wins than last year! 28-38
And definitely more road wins than last year!

I had one of the more pesemistic predictions last year, and even I overestimated our win total by 5. I'll go with about the same record as last year, 20-46.

With the team as currently constructed (assuming we keep Young and start him at 2-guard)...

Put me down for 16-50.

Without a big move I am thinking 16-50 also. I can see this team really struggling at the start of this season.

I'll predict 28-38. I think Wall is going to take a big leap forward and drag the rest of the team with him.

I've been WAY too optimistic the last couple years so I probably
will be again.

We couldn't win for nothin on the road last year, just an abnormally
horrible road record. And we were terrible at closing games when
we had a chance to win in the last few minutes. Those things
might change. Or not. Having a .500 record would be a major
accomplishment and seems doubtful. I'll go with Nate and
withhold for the moment a # of wins prediction.

Nigel say 21-45. Hopefully that gets us Sullinger, Davis, Barnes, Robinson or one of the Jones guys.

I am also going to wait.

On Nick Young, I wonder if adding Roger Mason Jr. is a signal that perhaps the Wizards are planning to move forward with Jordan Crawford at SG? Mason would provide a backup who only figures to get minutes if Young is not signed. For the record, I don't think Young's presence or absence matters much in wins or losses. I believe Young might end up in Chicago.

I am going to wait to see preseason games before I predict. The rest of the roster and how good Singleton and Vesley are could sway me to be a bit more optimistic than I am if I predicted today.

The Wizards have said this has no effect on the Nick Young situation.

Thanks, 7DD. I have been out of the loop on news and didn't know that.

I think the Wizards should keep Young, but for the right price and not too much. Nick's a great scorer and a good man defender who is not good at passing, rebounding, team defending, and intangibles that lead to winning plays. I think he would be better off completing a team like the Bulls, but I won't be sorry to see him back with the Wizards.

In an odd way I could sort of see the Wizards having a reasonably successful season this year. They are a youngish team, which could help them keep up with the aggressive schedule. They are largely intact from last year, players and staff, which could help them get thier cohesion quickly w/o a long training camp/preseason ramp-up. In a way the short/compressed season may mitigate some of their well known weaknesses.

I don't see the shortened season being any benefit to the Wizards. The shorter/tighter schedule puts a premium on conditioning and toughness, both physical and mental. The Wizards aren't well-stocked in that kind of merchandise.

...back after a long hiatus (glad we finally have basketball coming back)

Put me down for 19 wins...

Can we get a tally of the predictions thus far?

With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
