Man, you should read the other boards when they are playing the Wizards, it's pretty brutal.

Orlando has had our number for year. Orlando is a bad match-up all-round for us, especially in the front court obviously.

I was expecting that actually. :)

Check the record though. While we ultimately might vote the same in
our dysfunctional 2 party system, I believe I've been considerably more fair/nuanced
in my analysis than Hands. In fact, I remember writing re Hands that he made
me feel like the Dixie Chicks felt about being from TX and W. Ultimately,
some things just can't be helped.

If Anderson makes more than 2 3s, then there is

game and a total blowout.

I fear Blatche will be lazy and refuse to get out and challenge Anderson at the 3 point line. This might be a game where we're better off with Booker or Rashard Lewis at the 4 - unless Blatche proves he can dominate Anderson on offense.

Nate

Do you think even an unlazy Dray could close out to the 3 line ? Even Dray at his best is not what I would call nimble of foot. Sheed is a little quicker but even that isn't what I would call really quick.

I think it would take at least Booker or a Vesely to cover that kind of ground. Hell, even KS has quick feet if he could read the play quick enough. But KS will most likely be at center unless they move Dray there and let KS run around more.

Closing out to the 3 pt line is a work in progress for this group. But then again, that has been an issue for many years. At least we are not talking about slow footed Dray and slow footed AJ anymore. As a group, they do have quicker players. Dray and Lewis just arent at the top of the list.

Ves really is going to provide the extra flexibilty they need.

Even better, I wanna see him play minutes without

They need to take Howard out of the game by getting him in foul trouble.

Hit him low with KS
Hit him high with McGee

And have Wall charge the lane with drives and drive/dish/dunks

Get Howard in foul trouble early where he cools off on the bench. That is how you nutrilize Howard. Sit him on the bench.

Hey, it's not like ORL is beasting really. Who have they really played ?

Lost to OKC on the road
Win - Houston at home
Win - NJ at home
Win - at charlotte
Win - TOR at home
Lost to DET on the road

You would think Wall should be able to the better of Nelson

If I misinterpreted these remarks, I apologized.
They appeared to me to be a call to take an opposing
player out of the game by physically injuring him.

was thinking the same thing

it's both sad and ironic that while Blatche will go outside on O
rather than work his tail off in the paint, that he probably
won't stay home on Anderson at the 3pt line and make him
a driver.

Hands, dude, you wrote that we should basically eff up Howard
so we can win. That's totally classless. If you have a team that
needs to deliberately injure opp players to W, that's hardly a team
that should be rooted for. Football you can do this within the
legal bounds of the game. Hoops, not so much. That this has
to be explained to you defies understanding. Calling me an
internet punk after you called for our team to injure the
opp team star player, amazing.

as for my HOF posts, let me say this, while I may not have
any that stand out as pearls of wisdom, at least I also do
not have m/any that stand out as completely idiotic and classless.
You should expect to be called out when you write crap like you did.

I did not say to injure him. I said get him in foul trouble. KS has the lower strength. McNastly has the length and leaps. And Wall can challange him on the drive.

idiotic and classless ? That was pretty much your post in reponse to mine so at least you can check that off your bucket list.

Idiotic was not reading what I actually wrote and saying I wanted to injure Howard.
Classless was needing to hide behind some "everyone has you on ignore comment".

If you are going to attack someone;

1st - make sure you read what they actually wrote.
2nd - be man enough to do it on your own.

This. I predict Anderson owning Dray because Dray is always lazy defending perimeter players, and doesn't always contest long-range shots. If Flip were smart, he would limit Dray's minutes, but he's NOT, so why should I even bother getting mad when it happens?

Hey, water under the bridge then.

It was only a figure of speech.

I agree with you. It would be pretty classless to attempt to intentionally injury a play like that and if someone did, they would get ejected.

it would be a minor miracle if we could limit anderson to less than 2 makes. he's been averaging 4 made 3's this season - leading the magic in scoring. hedo's averaging 2 makes. JJ reddick and duhon each averaging a make also. they're a 3-happy team with EVERYONE short of dwight and big baby each taking a 3 every game.

i agree with whoever said that our chance in a W rests in the guards exploiting their advantages - not blatche checking ryan anderson. remember back to our first game where Kris Humphries lit us up and now double the talent. anderson is going to have a career night. our best hope is that his career night limits opportunities for howard and that our guards also have a career night. i can see wall and nick just going buck wild on nelson/richardson and crawford abusing either redick or duhon - whoever is willing to risk their ankles checking him.

resting our hopes on mcgee scoring 30 on a 3x DPOY because he learned a hook shot, blatche chasing someone around the perimeter, or seraphin doing ANYTHING is a poor gameplan.

Oh God. I just had a flash back to that Cleveland game where D Song got ejected/suspended for rebounding against LeBron.

Flash forward to R Lewis getting run over like a Mac Truck with no break on a one lane road and the Wiz not getting the call. I mean he wasn't just hit on the arm or with the body, the guy landed on him and rolled over him like Dexter Manley rolling over a Dallas QB. I'm surprised he wasn't injured.

Refs + Wizards is like Rodney Dangerfield.

I get that winning teams with star(s) that are marketed get some breaks. I can live with that. But you have to draw the line somewhere so the game still has some credibility. How is a non winning team ever support to get better if they are out matched by talent/experience and the refs can't call a fair game.

I'm sure every team thinks they don't get the calls. But honestly, do you think the Wizards get shafted more than most teams ? I think they do. I guess that goes with no refs have repect for rookies. McGee was jumping and landing on people. Dray doesn't exactly endear himself to the refs. That really only leaves Wall and he was playing like a crash dummy until last game.

Hopefully Ves plays well and adds some star power. Maybe the refs will like him and that will help better paint the entire team. McGee turning the corner would help as well. He makes plays the league can market.

According to Mike Lee, Ves might play tonight.

Jan Vesely practiced without complications past 2 days & will likely dress vs. ORL. Flip said JV might play to foul Dwight Howard #wizards
