What kind of #s are you expecting from Wall/Beal
Thats the present and future...
I think (according to Trevor Ariza....Wall's jumper looks much improved) Wall gets...
19/9/5. I really think he steps up this year.
Beal becomes an impact player (I've warmed up to the idea he's in DC)
Gets 16/5/3.
Overall. Should make for an exciting backcourt.

Wall already pays around 5K a month so I expect for Beal to find a place near him and pay around that same amount as well.
Combined. 10K total.
Per month.

If the two together can match Oscar Robertson's rookie year, I'll be happy.

Re: 12-13 Statistical Predictions for Beal
He is probably going to be coming off the bench at the start of the season, if not all season. Hard to make predictions when we don't even know how much he will play.
I would guess he gets 20-25 minutes per game. Going with that i will assume he scores 9-10 ppg and 4 rebounds per game.

Re: 12-13 Statistical Predictions for Beal
I'm assuming he will have an Eric Gordon like rookie campaign and beat out Crawford by accumulating similar statistics with better efficiency.
Crawford’s numbers last year: 14.7 ppg, 3 apg, 2.6 rpg, 40% fgp, 29% 3pt.
Eric Gordon's rookie season: 16 ppg, 2.8 apg, 2.6 rpg, 46% from the field, 39% from three, 85% from the free throw line
So for Beal to start over Crawford and have an Eric Gordon-like rookie season (which is what I'm hoping for):
Points per game: 15.1
Rebounds per game: 4
Assists per game: 3
Steals per game: 1
Field goal percentage: 44%
Three point percentage: 35%
Free throw percentage: 77%
Minutes per game: 33.5

What Impresses me even more about this kid is he averaged just under a block per game! 9 times he had two or more blocks in a game. And 8 times he had double digit rebounds. Also had a steal in every game bar 4.
Although he didn't score higher than 22 points in a game this year.
we got us some shot blocking Gs with him and Wall.

Re: 12-13 Statistical Predictions for Beal
im not expecting much, i think its gonna take time for him to adjust to the NBA game. I think he'll be very efficient and shoot over 45% and make atleast 37% of his threes. I also expect him to continue rebounding well for his position.
I just hope he is consistent

I think he doesn't start early on, but he'll end up playing starter minutes in those games. It'll be interesting to see if Randy leaves him in there when games are on the line.

Re: 12-13 Statistical Predictions for Beal
I hope Beal does well and develops quickly, but I'm pretty surprised that almost everyone (I think Halcyon's the only exception) predicts a better 3P% in his rookie year than in college. That's from a greater distance, against pro defenders. I guess it could happen, since he's never had John Wall setting him up, but I'm trying not to expect too much too soon.

I could see that happening for a number of reasons. Everyone thinks he's a better shooter than his percentage was in college. He came into his own at the end of the year kinda like Durant had a horrible percentage halfway through his rookie year but found his groove and never looked back.
Beal had to be the man at Florida while also fighting double teams. He'll just be a role player here. He had a horrible PG at Florida while he's playing with a good & willing passer in Wall. Our post game is 10x better than its been in a million years which would lead to even more open shots for him.

I hope he beats out Crawford real early like mid December at the latest...

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Re: 12-13 Statistical Predictions for Beal
I'm in the "don't expect too much too soon" camp. He's probably coming off the bench this year in the 20-24 MPG range. I'm thinking 9/3/2. That's fine though. All I really want it to see some half decent shooting percentages, and by the end of the year, for him to start to really eat at Crawford's minutes, in preparation for taking over that starting spot in year two.

I'm right in the middle, here. I think the Wizards need to make a statement with Beal. I think he has ROY potential both with his talent, skillset and overall fit on this team. We're an organization who desperately needs the good publicity and impact of a ROY so I believe Randy Wittman will give him the early starting nod well before this upcoming season is over.
Hell, while I understand he probably won't start right away, what's stopping him? What in the heck has Jordan Crawford done to warrant starting over....anyone?
