Livingston is better than Pargo, but that's low bar stuff. Pargo was awful. Livingston last season was barely above replacement level. The year before that, he better than replacement level, but still well-below average. He might help some in the sense that he's not as staggeringly terrible as Pargo, but he's not changing much about this team.

The moral victory tour rolls on.

I like the signing of Livingston. It gives the Zards a true pass-first PG who is also a decent penetrator...something that the Zards sorely lack without a healthy Wall.

Pargo is useless if he's not making shots.

Nivek, EG probably did Mack a favor by letting him go. He didn't have a future here. Maybe he can catch on somewhere else. Shelvin is not a good enough ballhandler, passer or penetrator to play PG...and he's not a good enough shooter to be an effective combo guard. Price and/or Livingston will be a better backup PG for the Zards than Mack.

I just don't understand why he didn't do this a month ago. Even if one were to believe that LIvingston and Pargo are roughly equal as basketball players, at least Livingston fills a desperately needed niche (a true PG) and would serve as a useful mentor to Wall even after Wall gets back. Pargo is just a dime-a-dozen shot jacker who only has a small role with Wall out, and no role whatsoever once he got back. Cartier Martin can do everything Pargo can do, but with better shooting, better rebounding and better defense.

Put this on the long list of EG screw ups. Again, it appears that EG has no plan at all. He is just haphazardly making roster moves in a reactionary fashion.

Can we start Livingston right off the gate or at least after 1-2 games?

Nothing to see here..

This!!! As others have said, this the move he should have done earlier. It is not an exaggeration to say the his collective board can run the team better than Ernie.

Livingston was an obvious pick over pargo but Ernie to dumb to realize that? We said he should of signed him before season even started. Ernie is suck a smart gm lets just give him an extension he deserves after this move.

IIRC Livingston was just recently released so he wasn't available when we signed Pargo.

IIRC there were a couple of posts before Pargo was signed that kind of were "hey, why not take a look" when I brought his name up. I don't think anybody was excited about it, but how exciting are 3rd string PG signings anyway? Pargo didn't work out, so they are bringing in somebody else. Let's hope Livingston works out better.

Sorry, Ernie....Shaun Livingston is NOT saving your job.

Idiot.

Shaun Livingston was cut about a week after Pargo was signed. When Mack got cut that's the same time Livingston did and the uproar began for the signing of Shaun.

Which is where I wanted to end up all along.

Welcome back Shawn.

End result. They upgraded at PG from last year. Adding Livingston and Price is better then Mack. And now Crawford is getting a shot at it as well.

Should be interesting to see how Randy does this. No Wall has been killing them this year. Price was not added to start at PG this season. He was just supposed to be a back up. Hopefully Price is hurt enough that Crawford gets the start and Shawn comes in to back him up. I think Beal will play better with Crawford. Then bring in Livingston to play with Martin and or Webster.

Why not start Livingston he's more of a pure point guard then Crawford.

YESSSSSSS!!

Now all we need to do is trade Vesely to China for James Singleton, and the Juggernaut will be ready to roll!

This changes everything, Pargo was the catalyst to my season prediction.

7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 doors. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea.

yeah livingston was cut after the signing of pargo but with houstons numbers we did the mathematics and figured he'd be available or machado. if we can do it a team of proffesionals should have known instead of playing bingo hoping to hit something

Given the situation at the time, most posters thought Pargo was the best available so they were ok with it. If you check the thread, that what was getting posted.

Some of us also have been talking for a while about adding a better, veteran back up PG and Livingstons name came up a lot. But he wasn't available at the time. Price/Pargo was a stop gap. Livingston wasn't released until just as the season started. After Price, Pargo and Mack fought it out in preseason, I doubted they cut two to add Livingston right away. But I was hoping they would do it after a few games. And they have.

Looking forward to seeing them play next game with Livingston added to the roster.

Home game. My guess is that the crowd gives him a warm welcome back. The fans liked Livingston.

I like the team chances to be more competitive now. A team of compliment player that has to play as a 10 deep team to win, can't do that without at least one decent leader at PG. Now I think they have two if they let Crawford play there with Livingston.

Still not there without Wall and Nene, but things should look noticeably better. Eventually Price will be the 3rd PG behind Wall and Livingston. That a decent little PG rotation with those three.
