Yep, when the news came up on my feed, Cousins being suspended indefinitely was the first thing that came to mind. Theres also rumours surrounding Tyreke. I doubt they would send both out to us, maybe for our unprotected first? Its juicy, real juicy, but i dont know if id do it. We could either look really smart or really stupid in a year or two.

Given Ernie's history, my money is on really stupid

This is one of those times when I think about 2009. Stephen Curry and Ricky Rubio could have been Wizards but EG instead of keeping the pick, opted for a year of Foye and Miller in which the Wizards won 26 games.

EG hasn't learned a thing based on his work this past summer. Nothing would point to Grunfeld doing anything other than moving prematurely, from a position of weakness, and taking on players another team jettisons. Not only does he relieve the other team of a burden, but EG gives ups picks (even a second rounder counts) while getting hosed in a trade.

I will be surprised if Grunfeld does anything short of giving up Seraphin AND this year's lottery pick for Cousins.

I'd give our 2014 first. Unprotected. We arent lucky enough to get Wiggins.

Maybe like, top 5 protected this year, unprotected next year, and they take Okafor, we keep Seraphin.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Seraphin, Vesely + filler for Evans and Cousins?

Knowing Grunfeld he'll probably throw in next years lottery pick. I'd be livid if that happened.

The wizards are 3-22. Why exactly are they looking to make a deal right now? Is it because Ted Leonsis said that it was unaccebtable for the Wizards to be one of the 3 worst teams in the league this season? If so, it is a stupid reason to make a trade, and it only hurts the Wizards long term prospects (if they give up a pick that is).
Viva le tank! At this pace, it will never end.

Perhaps we are going to start using the call-ups, it's one of the few moves we make can make now.

Hold on. You might be onto something. Maybe Whitman is suiting up.

Funny thing is yesterday I was going to post...hell,. if they aren't going to play Barron, they may as cut him from the roster now that Nene is playing...which was my original idea. Start the season which Barron then bring in Cook when you need a big who has range.

So wonder what they will do.

Livingston obviously wasn't working out.

Maybe they bring Mack and Cook back.

Why is everyone excited at the thought of DeMarcus Cousins becoming a Wizard? He's a nutcase, he was that way in college and he's the same way in the pros. What was the purpose of sending away McGee, Blatche, and Young? I know he's an upgrade, but how can you overlook his personality?

If he's brought in and it doesn't work beacuse of his personality you can't say the writing wasn't on the wall.

Pure desperation :D I think it is more-likely that we will use the call-up, but who knows.

Saw on the wiretap a couple days ago that an improved Gelabale was interested in coming back to the NBA. Maybe him?

EG has to be on pretty thin ice right now. Ted might be buying the injury excuse, but I sincerely hope that he no longer has enough faith in EG to let EG sacrifice future picks for a short term fix.

I'm fine if we decide to go after Cousins, but we must not include Wall, Beal or a future pick (unless it's lotto protected forever).

Forget Cousins. He is a volume shooter who shoots horribly and is too fat to get back on D, not to mention being a headcase. All he is good for is rebounds. No thanks

Not interested in Tyreke either. He is a bad perimeter shooter even by Wizards standards.

So Baron and Livingston's contracts would have become fully guaranteed had they not been released.

We aren't trading for Boogie. That's a pipe dream. I'm pretty sure signing Delonte West is a pipe dream.

Ted spent a whole offseason purging the team of bad character guys. Cousins is not coming to DC.

It's funny, JWiz. I was the most excited from day one and now I'm thinking about his outbursts. Comments from Calipari about Cousins put his stock down from day one. Westphal fired. Went after an announcer to the point of waiting for him after the game, (Sean Elliott said comments he didn't like). Now Keith Smart suspends Cousins indefinitely. My concern is if DeMarcus is bipolar and his temperament is still ornery after being rich, are his moods cycling in a way that will always create unneeded drama? It could be that he's pretty harmless. I would want to know EXACTLY what is going on behind the scenes.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/22 ... With_Smart

"What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room, but I was wrong," Cousins said. "But what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room."

Cousins has had a tumultuous start to his third NBA season.

"I messed up," he said. "I'm apologizing to all my teammates for it, for responding the way I did, and we'll move on from it. … I grow from all of my mistakes."

JWiz, I am excited by his rebounding and his fire and intensity. I think running with Wall would make him a devasting player. Boogie has played Bynum head up very well and he has not been embarrassed by healthy Dwight Howard. DeMarcus Cousins plays with an edge that I love to see. He's not efficient but he could be devastating next to Nene. I would want Seraphin on the team just because the physicality and aggression did not intimidate Kevin when they met from international junior league play. I think they'd bring the best out of each other.

If Cousins can be acquired for the right price and he's stabile enough, he would really be fun to watch. He's an elite rebounder who can handle and pass. His game would be nice to add and he could revive Wall and vice versa.

But the outbursts to me are potential deal breakers.

i'd give our beal or our first round unprotected for cousin in a heart beat. Cousins and Wall are custom made for each other.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands
