I think the point is that you want a top 10 FO - not a bottom 10 FO. Arguing about a team being just above you to move to the 10th worse FO is like arguing where to put the chairs on the Titanic - you are still going down on a repeated basis.

Pretty clear, if this franchise wants to move up in the list, they will need to replace the FO - lock, stock and barrel.

However, the Pistons have won a championship under Dumars and the Knicks have hope with Phil.

Bucks? Yeah, well, they maxed out a couple of years ago (sound familiar?). And Cavs? Yeah, they stink.

If Ted were to stick with Ernie, I believe we'd be headed to 28th within a year or so.

Should be a good read as they break it out.

Interesting to see SAC at 21. Not sure I agree with that.

McCallum, Thomas, Gay, and Cousins are each signed long-term and young. They have new ownership and fan support.

I can't say whether that makes them better, but at least the bulk of the team aren't free agents and/or old.

The Kings are a joke. Biggest bust of a team in the league, just like I predicted before the season started.

What will be really interesting is when they publish the detailed rankings for owners, gm, and coach. Then we'll see where EG really falls.

As has already been observed, the organization's urinal cake checkers are elite. They are to bathroom hygiene as the Phoenix medical staff is to injury. Just trying to stay positive.

The ESPN article says the org rankings are distributed like
• Owners: 26.5 percent
• Front office: 40.3 percent
• Coach: 33.2 percent

If Ted is #20 @ 4.73; that means our FO and coach are about to get REALLY bad scores.
Witt should be ranked higher than Ted (the last two years we've had a top 10 defense & the players play hard).

You heard it here first, Ernie will be in the bottom three GM's.
If I'm wrong, then I disavow all knowledge of this post :)

Ayup. One of EG or Witt's scores are going to be brutal. My money's on EG.

Top-20 owner is about to re-up bottom-5 coach and GM. Why doesn't this add up? That whole urinal cake business must be great PR.

Sounds about right. Unfortunately the stench of this organization will be covered up by this years playoff appearance.

We are a definite top 30 team in all aspects. :). Witt and EG are definitely top 30, maybe even top 29...could be tied at 27 respectively in GM and coach ranking.

An semi-anonymous survey was sent out to all Heart Surgeons in the country.
They were asked to rank all the Heart Surgeons in DC, which totals 32.
The list was compiled and given to the public.

A consumer has to get a triple bypass surgery.
If you had the choice between getting heart surgery from the top ranked doctor or a doctor in the bottom 20% (assume EG is 26th), would you decided to get surgery with this doc (because you are smarter than everyone else) and create a thread called 'Grunfeld a Great Heart Surgeon. Proves Doubters Wrong'. Probably not...

Huh. Does that mean Wittman gets a low grade tomorrow?

Uh... You go to a conference of the top 30 heart surgeons in the country. A survey shows that your heart surgeon is in this group -- hooray! -- but 26th out of those 30.

That means... ????

He is slightly below Ted in rating. The total ranking is 4.35. The weighted averages so far total to 2.83. This means Wittman must account for 1.52. Dividing by the weight on coaching(0.332) means Wittman has a rating of 4.59.

With Ted, Wittman and a similarly rated GM(Dell Demps) the Wizards would be the 20th rated team in the rankings. Giving EG a similar rated owner(Jordan or Gilbert) and coach would that organization on par with the Cavs.
