The Cavs looked like poo-poo tonight. They need more than two players. We will need Nene should we advance.

I disagree. I still think it's a good idea to trot Nene out with the starting linuep. Healthy-Motivated-Nene is still our best option for defending Millsap.

Now, I certainly agree that Nene needs to be on a short leash. If we get Gimpy-Unmotivated-Nene, then he can split backup 5 minutes with Gooden. We should give Nene the "Dixon treatment": if he hits his first shot or two, let it ride; if he misses, come with the quick hook.

BTW: I think Wittman likes to save Pierce @ the 4 for late in the game, in the hopes that the opponents' bigs will be that much more tired, and unwilling to chase smaller players out to the perimeter. As such, it would be counterproductive to run that lineup earlier, when Pierce would be exposed to a more energetic 4 who would outboard him and draw fouls on him in the post. Could be wrong.

I agree with keynote. Millsap is a load. It makes sense to have Nene soften him up a bit over the first 5 minutes of each half. We can play small for the remaining 19 minutes. The important thing is to make sure Nene goes right at Millsap and makes him work on defense.

Yah I'd gladly take start Nene if not simply to tenderize up Millsap up a little to help us out. Nothing flagrant, but just a reminder he isn't in Nene's ballpark in strength.

Hump better work on his 3 pt shot this offseason, cause it would solve A LOT of issues.

Can't see Nene playing as badly as he did in game 1, and i've hated on Nene for the past two seasons.

A regular season Witt would heavily rely on Temple and Butler in absence of Beal. If he can pull off a 2012-13 Webby, playoff Witt is truly amazing!

With Beal and Wall hurting, suddenly the 3 day layoff until game 3 doesn't look so bad.

No way we win Game 2.

ATL won 60 games for a reason, they'll show why.

Man, watching Beal sprain his ankle again, **** Horford. That **** wasn't by accident. I've been watching basketball long enough to know when a guy intentionally stick his leg under a shooters landing space. **** bush league.

Probably not since he can't hit the 3.

The 3 isn't the only thing that maters in the NBA. Gooden played poorly in his first two games vs the Raps but has since nailed a ton of threes and has rebounded very well. Will his high level of play continue? Who knows but I hope it does. What I do know is Hump is the better all around player at this point in their careers. Hes better than Gooden, hes better than Seraphin, and the way Nene is playing, hes better than him too. The Wiz are 5-0 in these playoffs so I understand its hard to make a change to the lineups right now, if for no other reason than not to mess up the juju, but I expect Witt to go to Hump once they drop a game.

I also watched game one again, the league needs to assess big fines for this dirty trick that players use...we need a name for this.."Hobbling"
Hortford "Hobbled" Beal.

ATL did appear to run out of gas in 4th. If we stop/slow-down Korver we have a chance. Porter could be the series MVP for us if he keeps this up. When he gains 20-30 pounds, he will be our LeBron stopper in the future.

#FireErnie ~ Because he believed Stephen Curry couldn't help us and Jan Vesely could.

I don't like Horford. Not one bit. You know who he plays like.. NOAH...

He sticks his leg out two miles wide on picks.
He travels
He injured Beal getting under his feet.
He runs right at players and sets moving picks just like Noah zone blocking.

You want to know what Noah would look like he he could shoot better..

He would be Horford.

I never watched him a lot but respected him game. Now I despise the dude like I do Noah.

Well, Horford and Noah were very successful teammates in college - along with Cory Brewer of the Rockets. Horford actually was the center on defense and Noah was like a free safety. I'd gladly take either one of them on my team. And Horford did not intentionally injure Beal. I want the Wiz to crush and humiliate Atlanta in 4 games 8-) - without inventing reasons why.

Jalen Rose admitted to doing that to Kobe. Bruce Bowen did that many times.

It's called Bowening, and FWIW I didn't think Horford did it intentionally when i watched the replay during the game. I haven't watched it since though.

It doesn't surprise me when players play dirty.

What bothers me is refs saw the Hawks playing dirty and they also called one sided against Washington. There is no fine coming when no flagrant was called.

Horford play is to me not unlike Olynyk against Kevin Love. I thought he did it on purpose. But the TNT cast unanimously thought that was normal basketball jostling. My thought is KO is REALLY smart. I know he took a year away from hoops at Gonzaga to build his body up. I wondered if he trained in martial arts during that time? That's how intentional I thought what he did was. He did some Steven Segal/ Ronda Rousey stuff to Kevin Love's arm! But still others didn't see it as intentional.

It's hard to fine when people disagree whether something was intentional. No way would Horford get fined.

The Atlanta Hawks are the greatest assemblage of talent in history. Jeff Teague is the result of the genetic combination of Bob Cousy and Maurice Cheeks.

Hawks 161

Wiz 19

Wiz in 6.

I love this CCJ lol

Not sure if anyone here goes as far back as the old usenet news days of rec.sport.basketball.pro
but there used to the this thing invented by Jim Oliver (iirc) called the Oliver woofing theorem.
It basically says whoever's fans do the most woofing before the game will cause their team to
lose the next game.

Nice going CCJ.
