That's a real good pickup for Golden State. He's a better version of Speights.

Golden State has done a pretty nice job of fleshing out their depth up front by adding Zaza and West. They could still use a shot blocker, but that's going to be difficult with only the vet minimum to work with. They also need another guard, but you can find serviceable guys from the D-League. They just need the next Alonzo Gee.

Wow, Wade goes home. Said a few days ago I thought that was a good move. Pat Riley finally loses one. Heat back to the lottery.

I don't think this is real.

Oh wait a minute... you mean he signs w/ Bulls. Yup. Somehow I thought it was the Cavs rumor you were referring to.

Langston Galloway about to sign w/ the Pelicans. Wall's buddy. And he would have made a far better backup pg for us than Trey Burke. Probably cheaper too.

Defenses are going to dare them to shoot. Luckily both Wade and Butler are great at cutting off the ball against stupid defenses.

Gonna be so weird to see Wade in different attire. Although, at least they are still relatively the same color scheme.

The Bulls have gotten worse this off-season. Their defense is going to absolutely suck, and they can't space the floor.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Yup, it shows the disconnect between the FO and coaching.
They're going to trot out
Rondo
Wade
Butler
Gibson
Lopez

And not only cant they space the floor with a single one of those players. Hoiberg likes to run a fast pace offense...LOL. What a joke

Mirotic has to start. Taj off the bench.

I agree, and while that helps with spacing, their pace is still slow.

Mirotic will be the stretch four to help balance that group. And don't forget about McDermott who shot 42% from 3 off the bench last season. They could still use more shooting, but compared to last year with a broken down Noah and Rose? I think this group will be better.

Rico,

I still have my reservations. But the bigger picture is they now have 30M in cap space next year, but only if they dont tender Mirotic and Snell.

If they didnt sign Wade, they could tender Mirotic and have 55M in cap space to make a run at one of the many PG's and a wing like Hayward.

Teague / Grant
Butler / Valentine
Hayward / Snell
Mirotic / McDermott
Lopez / Portis

Interesting squad

The Wizards give nearly $6 million/year to Jason Smith for 3 years. The Spurs get Dedmon for 2 years for $6 million. Even factoring in a Contender discount - one team appears to be getting a much better value:

Wasn't Rondo's deal multi-year? Either way, I do like that as a longterm plan. And it still could happen since Wade has an opt out for next summer, which I'm guessing he uses unless he gets seriously hurt this year.

That sounds a lot like Grunfeld's Durant plan, to be honest, only worse because it's targeting Teague and Hayward instead of Durant. Why would Hayward leave the Jazz for the Bulls? Why does Teague leave the Pacers for the Bulls? All it takes is for the Bulls to strike out in free agency next year and they're pretty damn screwed for a while. A lot of online fans love the idea of tanking repeatedly to build a contender (i.e. the Hinkie plan), and it can definitely work, but not a lot of ticket buying fans like those plans, and owners tend to like making money. The idea that the Bulls would pass on Wade for an outside shot at Jeff Teague isn't great. As it is, they could clear cap space next offseason if they really needed to for free agency, too, much like they did this offseason to sign Wade in the first place.

Your right, the Bulls are better off watching Wade play less than 60 games, with a TS of 51%, a WS/48 of less than 0.10, with a usage of 30%... After that amazing display the Bulls can then earn the right to pay a 36 y/o Wade 25M in 2017.

You realize he is getting 10M more than Gasol each of the next two years, and Gasol is a far superior player at this point.

Bobadan's 3-year $21 as a back-up Drummond, damn that's good. Bo is slothful, but he can hit FT's and he still might improve.

Anyone going to tweet at Nivek and see why he's stopped posting? Last activity was June 15, but I see he's still active on Twitter.
Someone theorized that maybe he had taken a job with the Wizards FO. I think this off season lays that theory to rest.
