Lots of Rolaids needed with this bullpen so far.

Don't think the closer is on the roster yet, unless Koda takes over.

Adding a closer at the deadline could move everyone down one level of high leverage and improve everyone. There's plenty of talent in that pen.

I agree Nats need a closer.
Let Koda & Treinen have the 7th & 8th inning.

Send Romero back to the minors if he continues walking batters. I understand the desire to let him figure it out but he just doesn't look like he knows where the plate is. I have more faith in Matt Grace, if Dusty wants a third left handed relief pitcher in the bullpen. Although Romero would be a nice setup man if he starts throwing strikes.

Unfortunately, Romero doesn't have any options left. Either they keep him up or lose him.

Rays gave up on him. Pretty hard to do for a left hander who throws 99.

It's a shame... but he just might end up like Henry Rodriguez. Totally nasty stuff, but couldn't find the strike zone consistently.

I'm kind of intrigued by the idea of Joe Ross as closer. He has the attitude, and two great pitches. As a starter, he gets hit hard the third time through the order.

Per Chelsea Janes, April 7 at 9:07 PM, Washington Post

Jeremy Guthrie set to start for Nationals on Saturday

"...a nonroster invitee to Nationals’ camp who then showed the ability to eat innings and pitch efficiently. The former Game 7 starter never threw more than 4 1/3 innings in a spring outing..."

If Guthrie is able to fill the 5th starter role... You may get to see Ross as a closer this season. Probably in Syracuse first.

Harper & Werth go yard, Nats win in a high scoring game.

Yep. On paper it's a good group. Not working though. It's rare to not have even a single reliever with a clean sheet one week into the season.
