I don't see him on any mock draft

I think Derrickson has a shot to make it in the NBA, but he's got to hire one of those professional trainers that specialize in getting draft prospects in shape - lose 10 lbs or so and tone up what's left. He's got to look more athletic than he does now.

I know some people will disagree but 10 years ago he might have been a 1st round pick. Now, he's not getting drafted and probably has little shot at an NBA career.

Two things Cs need to be able to do in the league today. Be quick enough to defend on switches on the perimeter and/or be able to space the effectively from 3 pt range. It's great if one has both but they've got to have at least one or the other. Govan has neither.

Govan is right around 40 percent from three in terms of career stats.

He just doesn't as many as he should imo.

Wow, that's a pretty big pickup. That said, he was disappointing at NC State. He was considered a potential 1st round prospect before this season.

His #s at NC State last year don't look bad. Has good 3pt range for a big man.

Now he'll get a chance to have his big man's game coached up by Ewing...probably with a little Mourning and Mutombo mixed in as well.

Patrick is doing work as today's announcements make clear.

Let's hope Omer can play this season. Otherwise, it puts him back as an NBA prospect. Otoh, if Govan returns, they'll be going against the trends by playing 2 very large bigs together. And neither is particularly quick. I think they're both underrated but question if they'd fit together.
