He’s got Fred Van Fleet written all over him. Plus on defense, plus on offense, big time leader and competitor.

At 15, I think you want Wagner, Giddey, Butler, or Garuba, in that order.

I think we can trade down and get Butler around the end of the 1st round - because of the heart issue.

Sign me up. I see Wieskamp listed at 56 on Tankathon’s mock!! Along with Queta and Petrusev at 36&39 respectively. Tell me why we shouldn’t acquire a bunch of 2nd round picks and get all of those guys?

34&36 from OKC would be good pickups. Not sure what the exact trade down would look like, but we could easily buy a pick in the 40-60 range and grab guys like Weiscamp and Livers.

If I'm running our draft, I make sure we get Wieskamp - be it in a trade down or from buying a pick. I'm still all in on the 3 UVA players, Kessler Edwards, and either Moses Wright or Isaiah Todd. Livers also sounds good. All of these guys are 2nd rounders, so we need to trade down and buy a couple 2nd rounders.

If Suggs is there at 4, I’m moving Beal to Toronto. No question about it. You cannot pass up on that opportunity. If Giddey falls anywhere near 15, I’m trading up/taking him. Giddey/Suggs is your future core, with complimentary pieces around them in Avdija, Hachimura, Gafford, Bryant, and possibly Bonga/Mathews.

He can shoot.

He can defend.

He's 6'6''

He's pro-ready.

He definitely fits. Wizards do not have enough shooting.

I think we may be mixed up on who we're talking about here - Scottie Barnes can't shoot at all. That's his whole thing, that he does everything but shoot. (He's also 6'9").

Toronto won't do it because of money. Beal will literally be making 10 times as much as Suggs.

Unless I missed it, it is interesting they worked Duarte out solo.

I disagree. I think Toronto would definitely consider it. Their 3 best players are 27, 27 and 24 respectively (Siakam, Van Vleet, Anunoby). Beal, at age 28, is the perfect age to join their core.

Suggs will be nowhere near as good as Beal over the next 3 years or so.

That's still not a championship level team, so why pay literally $40 million a year more for each of the next 4 years for Beal? They'd be better off re-signing Lowry and keeping Suggs.

Last year's record was basically a weird 96 Spurs situation and doesn't reflect their real talent level at all. I don't think Beal is good enough to be BPoTT but the Raptors are an ECF contender once things get back to normal as is.

I didn't even mention their 27-45 record last season. They don't have enough up front to contend, imo.

Franz Wagner, James Bouknight, Sharife Cooper are probably my favorites at the moment.

Still very high on Giddey, Mitchell & Springer too.

I'm pretty sure Cooper & Springer will be on the board at 15. I don't think the other 4 will be there.

The popular trade down scenario to 21 leaves me worried one or both of Cooper & Springer may be gone.

I think I'd take Cooper at 16 and simply try to aquire another 2nd instead of trading down for one.

My target in 2nd: Isaiah Livers. Backup target: Joe Wiescamp.

Giddey, Cooper & Bouknight are upside plays - guys who will be shot creators at the next level. Springer, Mitchell, Wagner are solid fits and bets to be high end role players.

If Austin Reaves doesn't get drafted, I'd offer him a two-way deal without hesitation.

What NBA skills does he have - considering he's not a good 3 point shooter?

Excellent ballhandler, decision maker, slasher. Can operate effectively the P&R. Not an athlete but the advanced handle helps him get to the rim. He's not a guy I'm necessarily talking about drafting unless we had a pick in the 50s and others were off the board but as a free agent I think he's absolutely worth a look.

You're not concerned about Cooper's negative DBPM? It's pretty rare for draft prospects and the notable players who had it include Carsen Edwards, Jerome Robinson, Aaron Holiday, Rashad Vaughn, Shabazz Muhammad, John Jenkins, Jimmer Fredette. Only Lillard and McCollum had a negative DBPM and went on to be great players, and they're both awful defenders but can shoot the lights out. To a much lesser extent Shamet and McDermott had negative DBPM and carved out careers with their shooting. The only other exceptions are Garland who played 5 games and had a -0.1 DBPM but shot 48% on 4.6 threes. And MPJ who played 3 games.

Cooper only played 12 games so it's hard to say what he can or can't do. But he's 6 feet and is probably going to struggle to defend. He and Cam Thomas are the only two guys in this class with negative DBPM.

Excellent points, Shoe.

It's a pretty big gamble to grab a diminutive PG so high in the draft. He needs to have a Trae Young type of impact on offense for it to offset the defensive issues. There are some examples of diminutive PG's becoming good NBA defenders, guys like Van Vleet, Lowry, and Chris Paul, but they're typically the strong, stocky type. I don't know if Cooper has the frame for that. Chances are, he'll be a great, change-of-pace, rich man's Ish Smith type of backup PG, but not a guy you can really play in the playoffs.

I'm really intrigued by Cooper's ability to get to the rim and his court vision, but now I'm pretty leery of drafting him at #15. I also think he might last pretty late into the 1st round and maybe into the 2nd. If we want him, we should try and acquire a pick to get him, or trade down.

I'm really starting to like Bouknight and think he might be a Devin Booker type of player. If his shot has improved as reported, he might be the steal of this draft.

Unfortunately, I think there is too much buzz around him for him to last until #15. It's why I'm really starting to be tempted by a Beal to New Orleans trade where we get back Ingram and the #10. If Bouknight is there at #10, it could really help reset our franchise.

Maybe he was still recovering from an injury, but he looked like crap against Maryland int he Tournament. Morsell locked him up. He looked like a worse version of Jerome Robinson.
