Worst tankathon profile I’ve ever seen

Interesting hearing/reading the perspective of GSW fans.

Think about that.

The #57 pick last night was Trayce Jackson-Davis. It'll be interesting to see who winds up having the better NBA career TJ-D or PB Jr.

Note that Baldwin is still only 20 years old. TJ-D is 2 years & 9 months older than he.

It seems to me that GS decision to trade Baldwin was less about PBJ's potential and more about the timeline and needs of the Warriors. The Warriors want and need to win now and the older, more experienced Jackson-Davis is likely better prepared to help them in that regard. He gives GS some the inside size and toughness that they lacked last season, which ended up hurting them in the playoffs.

I do like Jackson-Davis tho and had hoped to see him in a Zards uni. Oh well.

Hope for the best, obviously. But... I would have preferred Jackson-Davis -- who is mad as H#ll about how far he fell in the draft, btw, & vowing (on Twitter) to make teams that passed on him pay! :)

To me, Baldwin looks a ton like Kuzma in his clips. His shot looks exactly like Kuz’s and his high release and little step back game allows him to shoot over decent close outs.

He got hurt his senior year in HS and reinjured in college. So not so much a bust (yet) as a total unknown.

A healthy summer working with the team would be a big plus.

He might end up being Kuzma part 2 which is fine by me.

After reading those athletic scores, now I really wish we had kept TJ-D who I think
has a chance to be a solid rotation player.

Can’t shoot, according to Bilas. And we’re already seeing the Dawkins prototype: athletic, long, and with a shot. If you’re not athletic, then at least long and with a shot.

PBJ is two of those three; TJ-D, none of those three — hence why they decided not to draft him. They don’t want to invest in a player who is not the right piece or right fit for the team they’re trying to build.

Baldwin had a disastrous college season but he was a highly touted HS player. Last season, he shot quite well from 3 in his 200 and something minutes of NBA play. He has a 7’2” wingspan. If he can be a better defensive version of Bertans, he will make a useful rotation player.

The comment section is worth reading. GS fans appear quite pissed off about PBJ’s departure.

The beauty of it is he is signed pretty cheap on a 28th rookie scale pick for 3 years. Great pick up by our FO, nothing to lose…

When PBJ is hot, he looks like a god out there; he is so tall almost nobody is contesting his jump shot. The big question is how he handles being a defender, especially in the playoffs when people can game plan for him... but that doesn't matter that much for you right now but he was not cracking a playoff rotation for us this coming year. In my opinion between PBJ and Poole you guys bought low on two of our guys that definitely will be worth more in the future than they are now. Both need a lot of playing time to work through their mistakes, something we can't offer for awhile. Poole is also going to be motivated again.

This is why I think the trade was good for both teams, as you'll get appreciated assets while you retain a high draft pick. We made a win-now move, you guys made a move for the future.

Any thoughts on Rollins?

If Rollins is ever worth much of anything I would be surprised. Honestly at times he looked flat out terrible, in over his head. I could be wrong, but he struggled mightily whenever he was in the NBA. He did decently in the G-League though, so maybe there is some hope but I figured he was in there as salary filler.

Santa Cruz only scored 108 points per 100 possessions with him on the floor yet as a team they scored about 123 points per 100 possessions.

Sounds like Kyle Kuzma.

Where do you get g-league stats from? Also, I get the Kuzma comparison, but it's way to early to say that about the kid. The dude is just starting his basketball journey.

Btw, when did Kuzma become a player to reference in a negative way? Dude isn't an all-star but he's most certainly not trash.

Wizards were 12 points per 100 possessions below league average with Kuzma on the floor.

Kuzma is not very efficient. He is a chucker. He doesn't have a high BBIQ.

It depends on what you value. Do you want points or do you want efficiency and stuff that leads to wins.

I happen to think Kuz is decent but I understand how don't like him.
