Agree, Biden is ushering-in the red wave that did not happen in 2022, it’s going to be a wipeout with Biden at the top. I have lost all hope now after briefly getting excited that there was momentum for him to step down.

The alleged shooter also contributed to a leftist group on the day of Biden's inauguration so ultimately we may never really know his motivations. As for Trump's reaction, the Secret Service had said the shooter was down but that doesn't mean the threat was necessarily over. Trump's narcissism/political instincts/strength (take your pick) influenced his reaction. The photographs were iconic, regardless of what you think about Trump.

Yeah, I thought that “registered Republican” bit was a little too soon considering the source was an anti-Trump site. Gun violence in general should be the central issue, hopefully Democrats use that properly. At this point, I don’t assume the incident changes many votes or the outcome of the election, though it may galvanize pre-existing MAGA support for him, and it may lead to more political violence down the road.

After the last election, I determined that the person I always think is going to win, always loses. I don’t know how to predict elections, and I don’t know whether that realization affects who I predict will win. I have no idea who the next president will be, Trump, Biden, Harris, someone else. Regardless, things ain’t looking so great.
