Not worried about fitting in really.
It's more about consistency and everyone having fun.

Nice game from Blatche. It will be interesting to see what he does from here. In particular, how well will he pass out of double-teams?

Re: Blatche - ResurgenceThread
I think he passes well so I'm not to worried about that.
What I'm a little worried about is foul trouble and him keeping his head in the game. He still seems to get some tough calls and he gets upset about it. I also want to see how he adapts if his outside shot isn't falling. He showed a really sweet stroke last game and that opens things up for him.
What we really haven't seen much is Blatche being able to set his game up over a whole game or over several games where other teams adjust to him.
Is he is the first option ? If so, we have to see how that is implemented. If M&M is on the floor with him then passing to M&M is either a three or another pass. No black hole there. Nice one two punch. Then who is the third option. A dunk from McGee works but McGee isn't reliable right now. Flip has his work cut out getting McGee to make good quick decisions. He need to pass it back out more when his shot isn't there. Foye is a decent third option also. Plus you have Howard.
I actually like this team better then what we had.
Are they going to do some combination of letting Foye run the offense and then sometimes let M&M initiate it with Blatche sometimes initiating it or will Blatche get a lot of ball in hand set up like other lead scorer get. I like that we have three options now.
We have to see how this works out and how Blatche responds. I think he can pass and is willing to do that so you could give him ball and hand and let him work from there. I think his drives will get better with experience. Hopefully he throws it down some more instead of finger rolls. Dunks get people pumped.
I'm excited to see what this team does.
Most of us were ready to see AJ or AJ and CB go. As for me, I was willing to see what we could do with just AJ and Gil gone but we cleaned house. Keeping Haywood wouldn't have caused a problem with ball movement because he doesn't handle the ball that way and that would have given us the solid center post play we needed so Dray could focus on playing PF. That is something I have wanted for years. Had we kept CB and Haywood, CB would have tried to be the star and the whole team would have felt different but again, keeping Haywood alone wouldn't have had that effect. To bad.
When people talk about what if for McGee I think the same things for Dray. Going back 3 or 4 years I wanted to see us invest in playing him at PF with AJ or CB moved because Blatche had the kind of potential to fill the PF spot and I just didnt see the CB AJ combo getting us where we needed to go. Actually, I didn't care for Gil at PG with either. Interesting that all these years latter we are likely to see all of them moved. Just makes me feel like what if and what a waste of time when we could have been developing Blatche and got something for those player way be then. I think had they leaned on AB more sooner..Had they traded Gil for someone more professional and who fit their position more, then Dray would be a lot better player by now. He would have probably developed a year or so earlier. This summers turnaround may have happened a year or two earlier. But we are where we are and it's all about seeing what the kid can do now.
His commercial says.... I put in the time and when my chance comes... I'll be ready.
Well Dray... This is your chance. Hope your ready brother.
Game Two of What If. If he doesn't excel I won't freak but if he does, it will be huge.

I think Howard can replace Butler and hopefully contribute a little more than Butler was this year. It would be nice to see what Blatche could do as starting PF with a legit defender next to him(even if it was only for 30 games). The current roster except Howard, Foye and Miller looks a lot like a summer league team. Oberto would not be a summer league player, but hopefully his role will be limited.

This game would be a good chance for Blatche to establish himself as a legit starter.

Re: Blatche - ResurgenceThread
Blatche absolutely figures to be a starter for the rest of the year at a min.
How legit he is on a nightly basis remains to be seen as we all know.
I don't think there is any question that he's more likely to play well
on a nightly basis than JM.
Nene will probably abuse JM tonight. But how will AB do
against KMart, esp with Birdman lurking from the weak side
ready to swap anything weak.

Flip should be fired if Blatche is not he starter for the rest of the season. What Blatche needs to do with this opportunity is earn a starting spot for next year.

Dray started off like a beast. Then there was no one to step up and help him but then the new guys showed up.
AB only played 28 minutes and had a double double with 8-13 18 pts 11 rebounds 3 assists.
Back to back double doubles. Actually both game he had double double in the first half. DAMN
Didnt even need him in the 4th so he should be fresh and ready for tomorrows game.

All I gotta to say is that trading Caron and Antwan should have been done like two years ago. Cheap productive players like Dray are what you should build around.
