I don't know if we would contend for a championship if that happened, CCJ, but we would instantly go from being unbearable to watch most nights to be incredibly fun to watch. Lets draft Davis and then make that happen.

Point it, good things are going to start to happen for this team.

This is what all the pain has been about.

Teams will need to trim and the Wiz have cap space. They should be able to turn that into good players.

He's not elite at anything but volume of shots. The sad thing is, it's not because he lacks the ability - he dominated in the Olympics - but because he lacks focus and determination to do anything but scoring on a consistent basis. Does anyone really think that would change here?

Melo is the classic example of overpaying for PPG. Don't fall into that trap.

It is going to be interesting to see what happens when Melo comes back. There was some controversy about Melo taking too many shots before he got hurt. Now that they are winning without him the pressure will be on him big time. I know Amare will have no problem playing with Lin but i definitely have my doubts about Melo.

The Knicks never should have traded for him. They gave up way too much.

I won't go as far as saying he is the most overrated "star" in the league, but the fact remains, the Knicks are playing better without supposedly their best player. Same goes for the Nuggets after the Melo trade. For the Wiz, especially at what he'll cost, I'll pass

Don't know where they got the figure $5.76M as all the Knicks can afford to offer Lin, but I think it raises an interesting thought. Jeremy Lin might be a guy the Wizards could pursue in free agency. Hughes and Arenas worked. So would Wall with Lin.

Could you imagine the Wizards outbidding the rest for Lin, and also signing Ryan Anderson?

NY's cap situation does put an interesting twist on Lin-sanity. That figure is probably the full MLE for a non-taxpayer.

But I don't think Lin comes to DC. I just don't see Wall fitting in with another guy who handles the ball. Gil and LH worked so well because both of them could play off the ball. Wall can't really do that IMO because his one skill (getting to the rim) requires him to have the ball in his hands.

We're pretty much restricted to surrounding Wall with jumpshooters and maybe one post player. But he's got to be the one with the rock, or his value plummets IMO.

Linsanity is right.

This kid is amazing.

For those that missed the NY game today, you won't because it is going to be all over the NBA highlight.

Lin sink the game winning shot with .5 seconds on the clock.

GMs all across the league are crying tonight.

Amare had his shot blocked 7 times. Lin turned it over 8 times. Lin missed 4 FTs. I was following the NY game thread and the hometown fans were bailing on Lin big time, right up until the end when he tied it.

Then Lin took the shot for the win. Amazing story just keeps getting better.

I'm telling you. I was watching the game. The kid has ice in his veins. He plays so under control.

Sorry, but he is light years ahead of Wall regarding PG skills.

If this kid can keep it up, he will be in the MVP running. Insane story. Good for him. Seems like a really good kid.

Detroit actually has a chance against the Spurs right now, down only 3 with 27 seconds left. This is the same team that we just dominated. WTF

The forum at Insidehoops keeps crashing at the end of Knicks games because it can't handle Linsanity.

I'm glad everyone thinks Lin is a great game manager with an innate knack for passing the ball and genetically superior court vision, but he's averaging about six turnovers a game.

That's light years ahead of Wall? o.O That's MVP territory? I know he has this old school, mind-over-matter approach to playing that makes for a sexy story and a fun guy to root for, but all this talk about him being the next great PG is missing the somewhat significant point that he's a turnover machine.... which, last I checked, is a big deal.

It's only a big deal when your name is John Wall... :-?

Lin's game-winning dagger totally reminded me Gil's game-winners for us. ICE!!

Stern is dreaming of the Knicks holding-on to that 8th play-off spot. Linsanity world-wide.

Those turnovers will need to come down. His efficiency is decent (about 106 as a starter), but with an astronomical usage rate. He should become more efficient as his usage drops when Amare and Carmelo are back at full speed.

Sad part is, he carried the ball 2 or 3 times before the idiotic pass. Held (carried) the ball while taking two steps before dribbling. Or maybe it was a crab dribble....

Severn...that's what I saw as well. He palmed the ball twice before making that idiotic pass.
