But hay, we could always be talking about not having Mack and what a big issue that is.

Yes, we could. We could be talking about taking a guy high in round 2 of the 2011 draft, then cutting him before the 2012 season.

We could point out that no other team has cut its 2011 round 2 pick. Only the Wizards.

We could talk about the 10-12 guys taken after Mack who are rotation players on better teams than the Wizards.

We could even talk about cutting him in order to make room for the detestable Jannero Pargo.

Or about cutting Jannero Pargo to make room for that paragon of point guard play, Shaun Livingston (averaged 4.5 assists per 40 minutes last year, or did you not know that?).

Or we could talk about how Randy Wittman could have won the game tonight if only he'd known what you know, Hands, about who should be on the floor when.

But what we *are* talking about is your pointless post about Cartier Martin.

What post about this team isn't pointless in these games threads. Really. Your jumping in on this one. We just lost the 12th game in a row. All kind of stuff gets posted in here. Everyone is frustrated. So your going to chime in on this.

Get lost Gnat.

Martin's 3pt % is comparable to Mason's, this year and for his career. On a per minute basis, their numbers are amazingly similar, as are advanced measures. As for their role on the Wizards (Mason's being a hypothetical role), they are remarkably similar. Martin rebounds more and is more of a swingman, Mason passes more and is more a pure SG type. Martin is younger, has less mileage, and costs less.

The difference between Martin and Mason is negligible, barely a difference and indicative only of the Wizards need to add one more shooter on the cheap (because they had like none). Mack, on the other hand, is a young player that they just spent a high 2nd on; they either blew the pick or gave up on him too soon. The difference between pass-first, ball protecting Mack and shot jacking and can't do anything else Pargo (a worse 3pt shooter than Martin) illustrates EG's cluelessness as far as putting a team together.

Nate33 mentioned somewhere else that EG's offseason moves clearly demonstrate that he had no real plan. Well, yeah! He's a reasonable person, and like any reasonable person, he assumed he wouldn't need any plan. Once the time came to make decisions, he was in shock that he still had a job, so of course he had no plan.

Hey, at least they are getting paid to watch this eyesore of a team. With season tickets, I'm forced to pay to watch this crap.

My condolences.

Agreed, but I must say, in pre-game, they both looked like they had aged several years just since the start of the season.

That's ok. If Ernie is not fired this season, the Wizards are no longer getting a dime from this longtime season ticket holder.

Can't believe I watched the whole thing. First time this year I was begging it to end. Obviously I have a very high tolerance for pain but this was too much.

I nodded off half way through the 3rd.

Normally i'd go back and watch the rest of the game. I went grocery shopping instead.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I caught the first half and then switched to the Knicks/Nets game.

Good decision on my part.

One organization has competent management, competent coaching, refuses to overpay for players, the ultimate team environment and consistently upper-echelon despite being in a small market.

The other organization has clueless management that remains intact despite incredible odds, incompetent coaching, a tendency to acquire redundant overpriced role players who may or may not have an actual need on the team, a large market that despite itself cannot field a respectable team.

One breeds success; The other breeds failure. Repetitively.

Bradley Beal's momma needs to give Pam McGee a call.

Offend the owner into traded her boy is what I would tell Momma Beal. His future is f'd with this team.

Honestly, CCJ, it's at the point where I see anything this franchise does as being incapable of working.

If another organization drafts John Wall, I think he would be the star we all wish he would be for us. If a team like the Spurs drafted Jan Vesely, there's no doubt in my mind he'd be a useful, impactful player for them.

McGee is playing well in Denver. Blatche is playing well in Brooklyn. The list goes on and on.

The culture of this team is F'ed up and it's gotten to a place where our moves will always be inherently bad because of who we are.

This organization needs a major shakeup because this current pace is and should be unacceptable to any sports fan, let alone an NBA owner who is spending a lot of his hard-earned fortune to look absolutely foolish.

I am hoping the losses keep mounting to make Ernie Grunfeld go.

miller, I think perhaps the day Ted sells the team or if/when he fires EG --- MAYBE that's when things will change.

thats disrespectful. you are talking to people who have been here ages and loved the team longer. given time, money and emotion to this team. posted endlessly suggestions with their free time and four what? five years plus of the worst basketball team?owner we don't like, gm we don't like? players we do not care for? this team and everything about it is disappointing. our loyalty is being used against us to stomach a bad product. i am a basketball fan too and this isn't worth it

I watched the whole game and thankfully the Knicks/Nets game kept me awake because I would've passed out watching the Wiz game. I just don't understand Ted, grow a set and fire EG.

I'm very tempted to subject myself to this crap team on Friday and go root for the Knicks. My son (5) loves the Knicks and can't understand why I'm rooting for "the bad red team." SIGH.

You know, it's one thing to write pointless posts as you do all the time; it's another to call people names. Repeatedly. Which you also do.

It's one thing to critique what someone writes -- please feel free to point out any mistakes I make in what I post here (for example, maybe other teams *have* cut their 2011 round 2 choices; if so, that would be a telling criticism of what I wrote) -- but, again, it's another thing to respond by calling me a name.

As you probably recall, I've asked you once to stop this kind of thing. This time I'm asking for an apology and a commitment not to do it again.

Clear? Come through, please.

PIF,

An apology and "commitment not to do it again" seems a bit unrealistic on a message board. May I suggest the ignore feature for a certain individual. I assure you it works wonders!

In the past 24 hours you've had someone legitimately challenge you to a knife fight, and others calling you names. I commend you on your ability to stir up a generally "too serious" board. :vent:
