So what kind of start would we need to have for our FO to consider tanking?

I know it's funny to say we're the worst team in the league and everything but we're not going to be this bad all year. You know we're going to go on a run eventually and finish with 30-35 wins. But that, in my mind, is the worst thing possible. Not only does it mean no playoffs but it probably means Phoenix gets the pick too.

Ernie can't possibly think that's a good idea, right? Or is he in complete "job protection" mode?

We left a big turd on the floor tonight. I wonder who cleaned up that mess.

I agree that 30-35 wins is the worst case scenario, but there is no way that EG and Ted are going to tank this season.

But I have to say.

SA offense is a thing of beauty. They get right into it. Players just cut. Next pass. Cut. Spacing. Parker drives. Players rotate and get open shots.

It really is nice.

But we are talking about a team that was one pass away from a title last year that plays good team ball.

Wait. Trevor A pulled a hammy ?

What's worse is that outside of the first 7 or 8 minutes of the game, they were pretty much on cruise control all game, with Duncan having one of his worst games in recent memory, and we still got beat down.

Hey, only lost by 13 this time.

Points in the paint SA: 52

Ouch.

But hey, held them to 92. Randy is probably please with the D.

No, the D flat out sucked again. Spurs only scoring 92 had more to do with them coasting in the second half and Pop giving more minutes to the second unit. Not one of the Spurs starters played more that 25 minutes. That, and they missed a bunch of open 3s.

Oh yeah. If Ves would have stayed on the bench. Would have been a Wizards blow out.

I ain't even mad...Ariza out with a hamstring injury, might as well sit Wall a couple games with his eye-poke "injury".

All in for Wiggins!!!!!!!!!!

Wait. They were down only 3 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd.

3 Wall misses, 1 Webster miss later and a finger in the eye of Wall later, it was 66-57 Wall on bench.

Manu for 2

Beal missed and they end the quarter 70-57 with SA on a 10-0 run.

How was Pops just costing the 2nd half ? He usually plays deep into his bench.

Shocking.

Last time Duncan had a game this bad vs. The Wizards, the Spurs lost but only cause Arenas had 43 points.

Aye, whichever one of those guys is fine with me...they all look like they can carry a team offensively.

BTW, people are starting to underrate Wiggins...I don't think Parker is better.

Full tank mode. Clean house starting with EG. Find a competent GM for God sake and let him do a proper rebuild. This is pathetic. Our second unit couldn't beat the average D league team.

Aww man.. Just saw the Wizard get carved up on back to back plays starting the 4th..

Beal on a close out .. jumped on the shot fake and took himself out of the play..
Maynor covers his man leave Manu open at the top.
Jump fake shooter passes back to Manu who previously passed it to him.

Glen hedges to get closer to the player opposite elbow 3 opening a lane to the left post.
Ayres moves to left post from his position left of Manu at the top.

Manu feeds the post to Diaw right post.
Nene rotations to cover

Diaw to Ayres post bound pass around Nene to his back
Ayres Dunks over Nene's back

Thing of beauty. Pass. Pump fake. Pass. Bounce pass. Dunk. No one even dribbled.

That's old school Boston Celtics style basketball.

Terrible thing was once Beal jumped on that shot fact, he just walked around. Never did anything to get back in the play.

Next time down, SA carved Maynor up on a back door

Manu to Ayes covered by Nene on the left post, backdoor bound pass to Mills. Pass, Pass, layup.

Game over. TO Randy. 76-57 Wall on the bench icing his eye.

After the TO, Temple returned at the PG.

I posted this question in another thread...if we end up with a top 3 pick (Parker, Randle, Wiggins) would you guys trade Wall to Sacramento for their pick 4-6 range and draft Smart, who sounds like another Wall( but less expensive) just reading his scouting report or Exum who's being compared to MCW??

Honestly, I'm a huge Wall fan, but I will probably do that trade. I want a complete rebuild. Beal should be the only one off the table.

So Wall got pocked in the eye and never returned.

Wow. Just an offensive machine. Really a thing of beauty to be able to watch that kind of basketball get played in today day and age of one on one type players and teams.

The way they pass and find open space, pump fake, pass and just keep moving. Skip passes. Always trying to get the back to the basket first.

They could have a team of older player out there and still run this. Which they actually do sometimes.

I wish I know more about defensive rotation because even watching it in slow motion its hard for me to figure out how you can cover them given what they do. They make you cover the entire court.

Then I watch our offense and it look nothing like that.

One looks like Geometry.
The other looks like someone drawing a stick figure hangman

SA offense is based on extreme knowledge of the system. It requires players to pump fakes knowing they aren't going to shot but that you are going to pump fake then pass to get you out of position. Its all about maximizing spacing and opening holes and lanes.

Its like a read option offense. And if you are open, shoot. Thats part of it. Even if you miss. Cuz that mean anyone open needs to get covered and that moves the defense even more. So everyone on the floor needs to be about to at least shoot a mid range and pass.

I think Webster would fit on the SA team.

SA doesn't ever really need a true PG.

Parker had 1 assist. The team had 28. Parker could just drive and score and the offense still works.

SA generate looks with a team offense. Manu can even start the offense.

Pop endlessly schools them and how to run these read option plays and everyone on the team can run them.
