Re: Official Thread -- Wizards at Knicks (12/16/13)
Wall is a great talent but still too mentally unstable. You can tell he's an emotional rollercoaster. IDK if Ive ever seen someone play so legendary good in the 1st half and then so legendarily bad in the 2nd but luckily Beal bailed us out.
I will say in Wall's defense, that I think Witt's rotations screwed him up. He was playing average but Shump was on him. He then gets fouled and makes one FT. NY takes Shump out at that time. I was thinking Wall might get a lil confidence from the FT and be more aggressive with Shump off him but Witt immediatly takes Wall out at the same time. After that he sat for a million years while a crazy fast paced game was going on. When he came back in he was dead cold, everyone else was playing full steam, and every play was a big critical play. I just think thats a hard situation for an ice cold guy to come into. I think if Wall wouldve stayed in longer in the 3rd or came back earlier in the 4th then he plays better. Thats not to say Witt made the wrong decisions

The line up I felt we should have started.
Hey, at least Randy road Temple and Ves to get the 7 pt lead so they were in the game with a buffer.
I don't know. Wall and crunch time just don't seem to get along very often. Just being open minded. What could we get for Wall. There are lots of PGs in the league now that are good that aren't signed to max contracts.
How are we going to pay Wall and Beal a ton and still have room for front court players?
Lucky we have Beal signed cheap for the next two years. Thats why draft pick matter so much.
I don't know. If you need Beal and Webster to play like that to win, something seems wrong somewhere.
7 turnovers ... wow.
Wall is as hard on himself as we are. I'm not worried about him. He's going to continue to work hard and get better and better. I don't think we'll see peak Wall until age 26 or so. He may never be the guy you want to handle the ball in the clutch, but then, neither was Jason Kidd. That doesn't mean he isn't a winning player.

I don't care how we got the win after those 3 of 4 losses coming in gut-wrenching fashion, I'll take it. Got the Nets and Cs next.

People giving Wall crap for his second half, and his lack of 'clutchness'.
Who needs him when we have Beal? He's our closer, and it finally showed today. And I was pleasantly surprised with Temple tonight. Beal's dribble skills really helped him, as he had another ball handler on the court.
Long story short, we need Beal.

Damn it, first game I missed all season! If I had known the game was on I probably wouldn't have gotten my beautiful road bike stolen either.
Made a quick stop for a beer after my daily 10 mile loop and it was gone before I had a chance to ride home.

Woodson was the coach of the Hawks when i was following them and i thought he was an idiot. It is funny watching him fall on his face in the biggest market. I couldn't believe it when he was hired.

To be honest either Wall or Beal could've finished at the cup like that, Beal could've set that screen instead of going to the cup enabling Wall to drive on Beno. Either way that was a smart play

Enough with the rotations bullcrap. You people are never happy. Wall plays a ton of minutes. He is freaking 8th in the league in minutes played. Wittman FINALLY has a chance to give him a little extended rest because the second unit was getting the job done and you b1tch about it.

Not to beat up on Wall but do you ever feel like he will make the right decision down the stretch and come up big?
Its more a hope more then a feeling of confidence. 5 minutes and in scare the crap out of me when it comes to Wall. And that's kind of the opposite feeling I want to have from my PG.
I understand completely Hands but I think Beal was too hot down the stretch to not give it to him for the last play. Granite Wall is our max player
You must have misread what I wrote.
I totally agree with giving it to Beal. Its Wall down the stretch that is scary.

Garrett Temple outplayed him in that half. Played better defense and that pass to Vesely was one of the best dimes of the season. All you ask of your backup point guard is to not screw things up, play decent defense and not try to do things they are not capable of.

Surprised to see all this Wall hate, especially from Hands. Ain't folks figured out that JW is a work in progress. He'll be fine! There's a reason the kid was rightfully ranked the 5th best player under 25...ahead of guys like Irving and Griffin. Give it time.

did you read my last sentence or not. This was not a Witt diss. I was speaking strictly of Wall's bad 2nd half play

Dont think i will get tired of watching this. WTF was Melo thinking. It looks like he was yelling at Beno to inbounds the ball then he strolls up the court and takes a running 3.

Don't sleep on the Cs. They are on an 8-4 run.
And Sully is murder.
