Just filler with Rui and Bertans out, nothing to worry about.

Also, Brooks was on the “on the bench” podcast and was asked to point out one player that has been great in camp that no one is talking about and he chose Raul Neto. Just raved about the guy, said the wiz have wanted him for awhile. Said he is going to be challenged with “finding a role for Neto” and mentioned that they have Cassius Winston competing for that spot as well, whatever that means.

I guess Brooks can’t even fathom the idea of Neto playing over Ish Smith. Don’t be surprised when we see lineups of Smith and Neto on the court while Avdija, Brown, and Mathews all ride the pine.

Disappointed about Russ not playing. Wouldn't he benefit from having real playing time with Beal and the other starters? I hope there is nothing wrong about him...

Also confused about holding some of the main guys out of preseason games. Starting fast is so important for playoff seeding.

Brooks cited Westbrook being in his 13th or so season and being one of the few players that doesn’t need preseason games to be ready. Whatever that means

Yep, I'm afraid that is a possibility :banghead:

What's up with Matthews?

It was listed as “hip”, but probably nothing, just rotating in different guys different night.

That is a concern with Mathews, seems a bit injury prone.

I don’t think he is actually injured, he is listed as “questionable”

Something to keep an eye on if it continues, there was the mystery of why he wasn't at the bubble

Recommend this -- about 1/2 way through Brooks is done, & we get a QA session with Thomas Bryant & then one with Ish Smith -- both of the sessions, both players, are impressive -- thoughtful, articulate, & (in Ish's case more than in Thomas's) funny.

Are we gonna get some report a week into the season after Russ still hasn’t played saying “Westbrook out for 2 weeks with knee soreness” and then he ends up missing half the season.

Has anyone seen any news/report as to why Russ isn’t playing? The Scott Brooks fluff about “he doesn’t need preseason games” isn’t doing it for me

This may be from today’s practice. Season ticket holders received invites to watch on Facebook.

I ask, because Yoeli Childs is in it -- smiling & happy. But, I thought he was waived yesterday...?

(I don't know why this particular decision irks me, but... it really does!)

Did we cut gill ? Because we signed Jordan bell today?
And unless we cut gill we shouldn't have a spot open?

Bell is signed to an Exhibit 10 contract. This explains why we waived Yoeli Childs.

Actually, no... it doesn't explain waiving Childs, & reading up on the subject, we may not have seen the last of Yoeli either!

In itself, an Exhibit 10 contract is little more than a TC invite. When pre-season ends, a team can do 1 of 3 things with the player:

1. Keep him on the regular 15-man roster, in which case the contract converts to partially guaranteed minimum deal which gets fully guaranteed on January 10 (in a normal season, where TC starts in September). This doesn't happen much.

2. Convert the player to a 2-way contract -- can be done w/o the guy having to go through waivers (no chance to lose him, IOW).

3. Turn him into an "affiliate player," which means he's waived from the E10 deal & accepts being assigned to the team's G League team. If he accepts this & stays with the G League team for 2 months, he gets a $50K bonus.

More detail (but not much more info, to tell the truth) here: https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2019/09/what-teams-can-do-with-exhibit-10-contracts.html
