He's my favorite player among our 2024 rookie class guys. I really like the way he plays. When the 3-ball is falling, the guy is legitimately a real rotation player out there. He's additive - doing good things with hardly any bad things.

Agreed. To the additive part, he's sporting a +4.4 on-off while Sarr (-5.4), Coulibaly (-6.3), and Carrington (-12.5, yikes) have all been bad in that respect.

With that said, he still sporting 36/31/75 splits in almost 27 minutes a night, so there's that too.

What a game from him tonight. The shot, the D, the savvy, the poise.

Kyshawn's game-to-game improvement is astounding. This guy may have some Jalen Williams qualities.

I’ve been loving the way Kyshawn continues to improve his ability to get to the basket. He’s doing it in an unhurried way that is especially impressive for a rookie.

I just realized he's 21 years old by the way. I thought he was younger.

Yeah, it's why I think he'll peak out as a Cam Johnson tier role player - a 4th starter type of guy - rather than as a star.

That's still an exceptional pick at #24 though.

Yep. Kyshawn's development curve has proven to be faster than Bilal's but his ceiling is also lower. Bilal needs to make a jump next year.

Kyshawn’s Stat line from tonight’s game in Denver

Min Pts FG 3 pts Reb Ast Stl Blk
40 /19 /6-11 /4-8 /7 /5 /3 /1

I’m really enjoying watching him surpass my expectations.

Kyshawn George took about 32 games to find his sea legs.

Since January 13th (following his last 0-fer outing on January 11th) Kyshawn George has played 28 games, averaging 13 points, 5.5 boards and 3 assists per 36 minutes on a .564 TS% and .403 3P% with above-average defense. That's already the production of a quality NBA rotation player, and getting pretty close to the production one would want out of 4th or 5th starter.

Assuming that 28-game sample size is real, and assuming marginal improvement in shooting efficiency and physical strength going forward, it seems easily plausible that he could pan out as a 16, 7, 3 guy on a .600 TS% with solid D. Who was the last Wizards non-lotto pick to be better than that? George Muresan? Manute Bol? You gotta go back a long way.

Kyshawn’s ability to score, rebound, pass, and defend is why I see more Derrick White than Kyle Anderson or Cam Johnson when I watch him.

Like White, he’s also a good shot blocker.

I would like to know the story behind his improved 3 pt shooting lately but I doubt the media covering the team will even ask him about it.

Kyshawn’s 3pt shooting was considered his strength coming out of Miami. Probably just a matter of him just adjusting to NBA play and the longer 3pt line.

I would think there is more to it than that. He was shooting 26% prior to January 1. That is really awful.

George shot 40% from 3 on 130 attempts at Miami last year. So the long range shooting chops isn’t anything new.

Kyshawn is the son of a former pro basketball player from Canada. Some of his well-rounded game and bball IQ might come from lessons he learned from his dad.
