This game went from "same ol' Wizards" to "OMG they pulled it out". Nice win.

Amazing win, but what the hell happened at the end? Clippers don't foul with down by 5 with 15 seconds left? WTF. It's almost as is they were happy to lose. Not playing Thornton in the 2nd half because he had a boo-boo?

I'll take it considering how crappy with Wiz played for most of the game.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!! I turned the game off with 7 seconds left down 4 because I thought for sure we had lost. I just went on to Yahoo Sports to check the Georgetown score and I nearly fainted to see the Wiz had won in OT.

Can't believe I turned it off. WHY
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Because, simply put, you are not a real fan. Go cheer for the Cavs, poser!

Great win. I yelled myself hoarse. Wizards really picked it up on defense, toward the end of the 4th quarter, which kept them in it.

We were making fun of the people who had left and came back for the overtime.

Now we just need Gilbert's MRI to come back ok.

I just got back from the game. Kudos to Jamison hitting some clutch shots and free throws. But to be honest, although I'm glad the Wiz won, this game left a bad taste in my mouth. The Wizards are trying to fight off a hot 76ers team, the Clippers played last night, and the Clippers were missing three of their starters and the Wiz basically laid an egg for the entire game except for the last minute. There is absolutely no excuse for that. And, if wasn't for the Clips having a brain fart at the end and fouling Jamison, this would have been a loss. To put in bluntly, the Wiz didn't deserve to win the game, they just were gifted the win by the Clippers.

While I think a lot of the criticism of E.J. is unwarranted, there is one thing that irks me about him. When we play the top teams, E.J. seems to be coaching his butt off... yelling at players, jumping off the bench when there are bad calls, giving a lot of instruction during games, etc. However, when we do play the bottom feeders, the man looks comatose on the bench. I'm not saying E.J. is the sole reason we play down to our competition, but I have to believe that the team takes a lot of cue from their coach. If a coach is lackadaisical in a game, so will the players.

Aside from E.J., I also think our leaders have to lead during these trap games. Aside from the end of the game and overtime, Jamison and Butler didn't seem to care that much that we were struggling against a tired team playing without three of their starters. I was disappointed that I did not see them try to light a fire under the rest of the team.

Oh well, I'm sure a lot of people will tell me that a win is a win, and I should just be happy. I am happy we won the game...I'm just not happy how we played the game.

If your dad taped the game, I would just fast forward to the last few minutes of the game. The rest of the game was a snoozer.

I have a confession to make

normally I watch these things to the bitter end.

with 7 sec to go, down 4 and my kids bickering with
each other, I'd had enough. 20 minutes later I turn
the TV back on to check the weather forecast and it
was still on the same channel. I was stunned.

Horrible collapse by the Clips. Capt AJ must've been seriously
clutch. They needed it since PHL beat SAN! I think both WAS
and PHL could pass TOR and maybe CLE too. 'specially if GA
comes back on Wednesday.

edit to add - I think the absence of Haywood had a lot to do
with our poor first half D not that he would have had much/anything
to do with my pet peave, leaving shooters without getting any
real benefit by cheating. Magette's 4 threes in the first half were
all wide open shots. I've no idea if he's normally a very good
shooter for 3s, but after he makes 1-2, you gotta change plans.
Whoever guards him gotta stay in his jersey and make him do
something else.

Catching up on the game thread now. (EDIT TO ADD: Parts of my post have been deleted as it appears things may have become a bit personal later in the thread. END EDIT).

By the way, most of these game threads are freaking hilarious to me but this one has gone to an entirely new level.

BSPN? Putting the Wiz down for a loss when we won?

That's SOOO out of character.

Not unlike some of the morons on this board who spend the first 40 plus minutes of the game calling AJ every name in the book only to have to eat their words in the end.

Yeah, it would be fun to know what the Clippers' "Buckhantz" was saying at the end there. Oh no!!! It's not possible!!!
