I’m kinda in between gambit and the consensus. It think part of the strategy should have been to recoup some picks. And that’s because I feel AP is great at the draft, and the more picks he has at his disposal, the better. Obviously they went quality over quantity and I’m ok with that. We’ll see if the strategy changes next year.

The only area where they failed—edge rusher. That is going to be a source of contention going into the new season….they didnt do enough to address the pass rush.

Building incrementally one year at a time. Esp if this NC State UDFA is good, our OL is not only good, but deep and young. Our secondary is now a strength. Our interior DL is solid.
Can’t do it all in one draft, but our weakest position groups are now edge, LB and RB. Though, apart from edge, we have enough this year everywhere and we have JD who covers up lots of sins.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see us nab an edge at the trade deadline.
In Rizzo we trust

So far

G Timothy McKay, North Carolina State
DI Ricky Barber, UCF
CB Car'lin Vigers, Louisiana-Monroe
CB Fentrell Cyprus II, Florida State
S Robert McDaniel, Jackson State
S Trey Rucker, Oklahoma State
QB Collin Schlee VT

Loading up the secondary for training camp. Dan does love him some box safteys. You can make do with UDFA for that role .

Ricky barber plays DL but I wouldn't be shocked if they tried to convert him into an edge and Huntington is really underrated and got over looked a lot but he's talented !

Collin had one very mid season with Kent State in 23 so I imagine this is a convert to TE or Full back situation.

Some comments: Adin Huntington was signed by the Browns apparently. Jaylin Lane is short, but he's not small. He's 5-10 196 pounds so he's actually quite strong at that weight and height running 4.34. I know the desire for a tall WR, but Noah Brown is 6-2 225 and Luke M is 6-2 198.

They did not address their need for a pass rushing edge. Perhaps they'll sign Za'darius Smith, Von Miller, or Matthew Judon for a one year rental.

Does anyone how much cap space the Commanders have to sign a free agent pass rusher?

They have enough because they also have a few more guys they can restructure.

We are one physical freak at WR and a dynamic/fast back (maybe Jacory is that guy from the looks of it) from being an unstoppable offense. We may already be it if we get a dedicated and fit Deebo which I have a feeling we will. Maybe wishful thinking, but I think Deebo is going to have a little resurgence here. Can't say enough how much I loved the oline pick in the first round this year. Not the sexiest of picks, but is going to help bolster our oline and overall depth a ton. We still need an edge rusher and to re-tool the LB's a bit, but Rome wasn't built in a day. The jump Jayden is going to make this next season is going to be awesome. Not going to see a regression with him, he's only going to get better. Just follow Burrow's path both at LSU and year 1 (before getting injured against us ) and year 2 in the league.

Will say it again, LOVE the Amos pick too. He was behind some established ballers at Bama in 23, but was thrown into the fire against UGA in the SEC Champ game and played a hell of a game replacing Arnold. Transferred to Ole Miss and became one of the best CB's in the country. Gets to learn from Lattimore now, yep think we got our future shutdown guy.
