To be fair we shot out of our mind, but many of them were pretty good looks. Also lets not act like Portland didn't make some tough looks. Overall I'll take it, almost had 4 guys with 20 + points, thats pretty damn impressive. Lastly anyone hating on Crawford has to be out of his (or her :D ) damn mind, dude played a great game. He shot mostly open looks and made some fantastic passes, while playing solid defense.

Wall played great despite a few bad TO's; boy does it change everything when he's making teams respect his shot. Has anyone else notice he's started to develop a floater over the last 6-7 games. It's funny because when we played Chicago a few weeks ago I was saying to myself John should definitely try to add that to his game, it's such a deadly weapon. I guess a psychically coached Wall up, I'll take full and deserved credit.

McGee played great in the second half, rebounded well and made some major momentum killing plays when Portland was attempting one of their 19 comebacks. Veseley, what else can you say, played a savvy, team oriented kind of game.

All in all I can't point to one player that really had a bad game, everyone seemed to have at least one or two nice plays throughout the game. Cheers, screw tanking, I'll take a good win anyway. Remember you can't upset the lottery gods, they will smite thee.

My question is, what's it going to take to sign Batum?

I'm beyond glad i stayed up for this game, saw things that i wanted to see in the longest time, This is the we want , those jumpers need to come in more, NIck was simply amazing, Crawford was that spark we needed, This is the McGee i want, he even knocked in his FT, just an overall great team performance.

Not sure if serious...

+1

Javale looked good tonight.

He works really well with Vesely on both ends.

Can pretty much kiss any chance of getting Anthony Davis.

I still have faith. The Wizards won't make the playoffs. They will still have a shot as improbable as it may be to land Davis.

Right now I am so excited to see how they're playing.

This was a real win against a good team. Batum was on fire. Wallace was going hard. Matthews was nailing threes. Their old guys Camby and Thomas were helpless.

Forget the tank. Keep playing like this.

Still gonna be tought to climb out of the bottom 6 which still gives us a good shot at Davis. That being said, the depth of this draft will help and outside of #1, we can get just as good of a player at 6 than we could at 2.

McGee had IIRC 8 points in the fourth. He had a real hustle rebound and putback that resulted in POR getting a technical. He also got away with a charge and got respect from the refs. Hit both FTs. He really schooled guys inside.

McGee had a good game IMO. He is averaging around 21/11 over the last three games.

Couldn't agree more. I think after the last couple of games its even more important to get Dray out of here. He just doesn't fit in with that Wittman is trying to mold this team into. If Tyrus is available for him I do the trade the minute that Dray is healthy.

This is a great win for the culture of this team. We played mostly team ball with some lucky last second shots, but hey, w/e it takes. I'll be really interested to see if we can muster this good a performance tomorrow. We might want to consider doing a pick swap if we actually plan on winning games :|

Wittman climbs to 5-7 as Wizards coach. 3-2 over the last 5 games.

Two straight road wins, too.

Agree. After Wittman laid into home for trying to baseline fadeaway he really turned it up. He really went after the boards hard when we were trying to put the game away. I can understand the frustration with how the ge started off, but he finished up real strong.

Seriously, this was the best I've seen the Wizards play in I don't know how many years. I cannot remember.

Best back-to-back games probably in decades.

Wall was beyond good today. Crawford played like an all star. Nick couldn't miss.

That was tremendous.

Nice post and one of the most satisfying wins in a loooong time.
Whole reason we won was because Wall, Young and Crawford were
all high usage with high efficiency. Great to see. Now do it again!!!!

I'm very serious. Whitman was visibily pissed with Javale on that dumb turn around fade away that led to an airball. He took a ridiculous jumphook where his body faded from the basket, and that layup from the free throw line where he got bailed out by the ref.... Image

His stats might have been good, but overall he still had too many WTFs for my liking.

I'd say 4-5. Dray got hurt early in the Charlotte road win and was more of a negative than a positive in that game

Wittman did lay into him but after that play he really only had one bad play and really turned it up. I don't consider the hook a WTF because I thought Wittman was yelling at Javale to shoot the hook versus taking a fadeaway.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. We know there aren't going to be many games where all 3 guards are hot. Just enjoy it when it happens.

Vesely really did a lot of good things. Seems like even Javale is trying to set picks no after seeing Vesely do the same. Vesely is the first big who the Wizards have had that I remember who will find the cutter with the basketball.

Jan kicks it in to McGee or back out to the guards.

I Love the way Vesely defends the high screen roll. He rotates back to his man. Vesely's length is a factor at both ends.

He changes games without scoring.

that is the fascination with this guy. The book on him still remains
to be written though. The haters may prove out to be right. Right now,
I like the kid. He fouled out but by then the game was over.
He changes the whole defensive flow of the team.

18 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, 1 block, no turnovers. He shot 54% from the floor and 67% from the line. I think he had a good game. Many of the inside points we gave up was because McGee rotated to stop the initial shot and nobody else was there to collect the rebound.

+1^10

McGee had a very solid game. I'll take that game from him
all the time.
