If playing with Pierce didn't help him in that regard then nothing will.

Just following the matches for Crabbe and Taylor, I wonder what Beals market rate would have been had we not maxed him?

even if another team offered him a max deal it'd be better for us to shorten the duration of paying him in the very likely chance he does not justify max level pay.

Happy to see he is working on his dribbles, but like others have stated: Show it in the games, please drive more (pump fakes) and most importantly... please stay healthy. :nonono:

I don't doubt someone would have made him a max/near-max offer. While the salary for next season would be the same, the raises are smaller and the deal would be shorter(4 years). Not sure it is a great reason, but I could see the intent to pursue Horford as a reason for giving Beal more money than necessary.

How exactly? Unless he sends a $130 million dollar player to the bench, or that said player gets hurt as usual, I don't see it happening.

DINGDINGDING

Temple started 43 games last season so Perkins isn't exactly reaching.

Ok, but the implication was that he would start thru performance and not injury.

I know. He is probably right just not for the reason he thinks.

It would be #sowizards if Sato actually does outplay Beal.

Beal has a way of looking good even when plays pretty bad. The franchise and the fanbase always seem to believe that Beal is about to "break out" and emerge as a superstar. Even if Beal posts his usual lackluster, inefficient stats, I expect that perception to continue.

I don't see any way Sato leapfrogs him in the lineup. Sato would have to be the second-coming of Manu Ginobili to pull that off.

Injury.

And if not for an injury it might be a trade.

Beal won't be traded for a while. Right now, nobody would want him at that price. And if he started to play well enough to be tradeable, then we would all be excited about him breaking out and we wouldn't want him traded. This team never considers "selling high" on a player.

So basically, the prediction that Sato will start is kind of like predicting the sun will rise in the east. We know Beal will get hurt at some point, so all Sato needs to do to start in place of him is to beat out Marcus Thornton.

They've been a couple for well over a year now.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

CJ McCollum gets $106M over 4 years. Does that impact anyone's opinion of the Beal contract?

What is that? The same contract as Beal but with one less year? I think the 4-year deal is better.

If Beal had signed a 4-year deal, he'd be up for a new contract in 2020. I don't think he would merit a new contract in 2020 starting at $28.7M. That's what he's going to get in 2021 under his current 5-year contract.

Without looking at the stats (so they may surprise me), McCollum is also a better player than Beal, reputations aside.

Yup. McCollum is better. More efficiency at a higher volume and more durable. He is 15 months older though.

Going by DBPM, Beal was literally one of the worst defensive shooting guards in the league last year, ranking 81st out of 95 players with a ghastly -2.53 rating. McCollum was pretty ordinary, ranking 24th with a +0.05 rating.

Beal has historically been a pretty decent defender, but he was absolutely dreadful last year.
