I'm not too worried about it. Summer League means nothing. I just hope Sarr doesn't let it get to him.

I'm thankful he doesn't have the pressure of being the #1 overall pick.

Not to mentioned they are tossing all these stats out but none of them are anything but 3 offensive stats and fouls. He's rebounding well, blocking shots, moving well on defence. He's getting steals. Like he's not trash like bronny is. Nothing brony is doing looks good. Sarr may be on a shooting slump but he's still doing good things.

I'm watching and it's hard not to be worried about how he looks, even considering the number of rebounds. He looks pretty good controlling the paint, guarding smaller players on the perimeter, and protecting the rim on defense, but that's about it. On the boards, he looks soft. On offense, he looks soft.

I really like watching Gaff play - clearly was giving his all, even if he had limitations. I don't see that at all when I watch Sarr play.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

Controlling the paint, guarding perimeter players, protecting the rim on defense. That’s a pretty good start for a skinny, raw 19 yr old with just four SL games under his belt.

Sarr will impact winning with his defense while, hopefully, he gets physically stronger and tougher, and develops a decent offensive game.

Gafford was never a good rebounder.

About an average rebounder for a Center.

The beauty of him going to Dallas is that Derrick Lively is a great rebounder. Gafford owns the dunker spot and is most efficient scorer.

I'm encouraged by the fact that he keeps shooting despite the results. It's summer league; you are there to work on your game particularly if you are a high draft choice. Still very hopeful that he's the next JJJ.

For folks complaining that Sarr looks like he doesn't care on the court: I disagree, but also: Wizards fans should remember how much everyone on these boards bitched and complained about Etan Thomas, who looked on the court like nobody could care more -- dreads flying, elbows swinging, punishing the rim on dunks, lots of aggression -- but whose production didn't quite match, esp. offensively. On-court demeanor does not always equal ultimate productivity.

"Do not confuse activity with achievement." John Wooden
The optics of Etan Thomas "bringing the force" while Brendan Haywood seemed much less engaged, but Brendan was a far more effective player.

Etan Thomas is a raging antisemite these days. Equally awful off the court as he was on it.

They say the comeback is greater than the setback. Wouldn't be surprised if he drops 40 this afternoon

Yeah, I’m feeling a breakout game incoming. Something like 4 points on 2-15 shooting.

Let’s get one of those games vs the G League Ignite games going. I know the Ignite were a joke but so are most of these summer league teams

You mean the 22 year old Gafford who came to us after nearly flaming out of the league in Chicago. In Chicago he was averaging less than 5 points a game and under 4 rebounds. When he got a 2nd chance he re-dedicated himself to the game and started to play with full effort. Still never was a superior rebounder. Much as I question Sarr's game I still figure he deserves a chance to grow and improve before I will say he has no chance to get better.
