I would like Jared Sullinger on this team. I think he would work well as a stretch four that can rebound.

And his defense is shockingly good. His DWS and defensive rating is better than Taj Gibson's, who's known as a solid defender at the four.

I'd be willing to trade Otto for him straght up....I'm sold on Oubre, and Dud could start at the 3 until Oubre is ready for full-time duties.

Wall
Beal
Oubre
Sullinger
Gortat

with a solid bench.

Not willing to trade Porter for a guy who is about to get paid $10M+ and maybe a lot more than that. I'd definitely consider going after him in free agency though.

I'm a little concerned about pairing Sullinger with Gortat though. That's a pretty slow and plodding front court. I don't relish the notion of either Sully or Gortat chasing around modern stretch fours. Boston has Sullinger at center. I think Sullinger would be best if paired with a mobile big man like a Nerlens Noel.

There's only a handful of good stretch fours nowadays (Dirk is on his way out, Bosh, Anderson, Milsap, Love, Green and maybe a few others I can't think of). Honestly I'm not too worried about it...Nene and Gortat are plodders, but they worked together nicely when Nene was healthy and reliable.

However, I didn't think about the contract situation. That is a fair point...maybe you're right in saying we should wait before we make a move for him, but I honestly feel as though this team could actually contend for something if they made a move to improve their bigs. They have the wings set.

I like Sullinger a lot more than someone like Mirotic, who isn't going to fix the teams offensive rebounding issues. Gortats already 32nd in ORB% amongst players with more than 500 minutes. He's an awful shooter though.

However you look at it, Neal has to be the teams biggest trade piece right now. We're stacked at guard already with how sessions/temple are playing. Neal's on a ridiculously cheap one year contract and posting the best offensive rating since his rookie year in San Antonio.

Unfortunately any way you look at it, Neal isn't a good fit on the roster. We're desperately undersized and there's really no way to hide Neal's defensive weaknesses with this roster.

I think a Neal/Gibson swap makes a lot of sense for both Washington and Chicago. Chicago can cover for Neal's weaknesses, while Neal provides a massive boon to the **** show that is going on on the perimeter in the Windy Cindy. What's more, it doesn't cost Chicago a thing in terms of salary. It can be done with just a Gibson for Neal/Anderson/Blair swap, Chicago cuts whoever they want, and they get off the hook for Gibson's 2016-2017 salary, making room for Portis, and giving Chicago 8 million more to play around with in the upcoming free agency period.

I'd only offer another 2nd round pick as a sweetener. Gibson is good, but he's 30 years old, and can't stretch the floor.

Here's a three team trade that gives every team what they need imo:

Neal and Hump to Sota

Kevin Martin to Chicago

Gibson and a 2nd (from Wolves) to Washington

Don't see why the wolves do that. If anything they should get a 2nd. But I'd rather just hold onto some 2nds for a change instead of auctioning them off for quick fixes.

Call Orlando,
Anderson and a top 20 protected first in 2019
For
Nicholson and Deadmon.
then call the sixers and offer them neal and a protected 2017 first for Covington.

This would fix most of our front court issues, Both Nicholson and Covington can shoot and will be decent stretch 4's, Nicholson won't be to expensive to retain and Deadman is a solid back up center and won't be to expensive to keep either. Once porter and Beal come back we can move Kelly and Dudely to permanent back up SF/SG.
Wall/Sessions
Beal/Dudely:Kelly
Otto/Kelly:Dudely
Covington/Nicholson
Gortat/Deadman

That would be a very solid 10 man rotation with plenty of room for match up adjustments when the play off's come around.

What say you Washington?

I would do this
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=jhjx284
Len, Teletovic, Booker, clevelends first
for
Beal, Anderson, Blair and second.

..but the Suns would not

Way lopsided in favor of the Wizards.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Fair assessment but the wall trade he proposed was far far worse.

because they have enough youth at this point that they probably won't add any via 2nd rounders--they need established vets

payne is a terrible backup PF for them and Garnett is basically a player coach out there--they've actively been trying to move Martin and Neal and Hump would be nice vets for them on good solid contracts

From a Wiz perspective I absolutely do that. IIRC we can add Gibson's salary and still squeeze Durant in.

There was a report that they were looking to deal Martin to create minutes for their young wings. Plus, they can waive Hump and that gets them completely out of Martin's 2016-17 salary. But you're right that they don't need to give up a pick (which the Wiz don't need IMO).

Yeah. I'd do that too, though I'd rather give up cash than another 2nd rounder.

Gibson's salary will cut it real close on KD2DC. With Wall, Beal's cap hold, Porter, Oubre, Gibson, Gortat, our 2016 1st and Webster's buyout on the books, the payroll is $62M. Add in four minimum salary cap holds and its $64M. Durant will cost about $24M. The cap is projected to rise to 88-90M.

I'm starting to back away from including Neal in trades. Truth is when he and Ramon are both on our bench is pretty strong..

If trading Neal gets us a legitimate PF, I'd definitely do it. Don't forget that we'll also have Alan Anderson in the not-too-distant future. With Wall, Beal, Sessions, Temple, Anderson and Oubre, we should have enough depth at the guard positions.
