Oh really, idiot? Want a ban bet? Put your account on the line if you're so sure of that.

You Democrats are as tribal and ridiculous as Republicans.

Stop resisting. Accept me as your Lord and Savior. :D

Ok I laughed a little.

28 year old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just beat the 4th highest ranking Democrat in the House. She's gonna win this district in November as its a safe D seat. Will be youngest woman elected to Congress, I believe.

I voted Ben Jealous for Maryland Gov... I think he has a shot. Hogan is a strong incumbent but I think Ben has the capability to reach out to a good amount of people..

OMG what a NIGHT! YES WE CAN!

My baby Ocasio-Cortez beating that corrupt scumbag establishment Democrat Joe Crowley, and now my guy Ben Jealous winning the gubernatorial race in MD. Damn, I haven't been this happy since election night 2008.

The MD governor's race will be very interesting. You have a very popular but Republican Gov vs. a Democratic nominee that excites the Democratic base.

Things in VA are very interesting. I think VA is turning out worse for Republicans that expected. Nominating Corey Stewart was a disaster in "purple" districts. I don't think they had a legit shot at unseating Kaine, but being noncompetitive in the Senate race will hurt them down ballot.

“Not much has changed in the political environment since then, with President Trump creating a significant drag for Comstock.”

quickly, in bullet-point outline format, what do you think happened in 2016-in terms of actual collusion? And how did it affect our election?

For example:

A met with B. B gave C some money. C paid facebook $50K and twitter for Ads and those $50K and 13 trolls in russia posting ads on facebook swung the election. Just wondering where the conspiracy theorists are at with this.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

while clogs is doing is best inspector clouseau, the real news is DOWN GOES CRAWLEY!! DOWN GOES CRAWLEY!!

Wow!! Many thought he would be the next speaker of the house!!!

Here's the thing Dems. This Bernie socialist movement is real. The Trump movement is real. And so is the bernie movement.

These 2 movements will need to combine forces however, to bring about real and permanent change.

Here's where the 2 have common ground (feel free to add)

1. help the working poor<-- R's (trumpers) just doubled the standard deduction. $12 to $24K.
2. taking away tax advantage of big corporations over small business<--SB now has lower more competitive tax rate.

Here's where i feel they are close or could get close:

1. free college for anyone who shows merit(good grades) and comes from poor families.

Here's where i think they are much closer than Trumpers realize:

1. free medical for all<--which would be easy if it didn't cost so much. Dont forget that its the COST of healthcare is why its not free for all.

A. This divide is not that difficult to cross. the real issue on health is diet and the american sedentary lifestyle and drug illicit useage. This can be accomplished via food and drug administration(diet) and DofE(make kids exercise more in school) as well as DEA, ICE, Border security (to keep drugs out).

B. legal drugs. Thats your biggest "cost driver." Americans are unhealthy and we prescribe pills to "help." Then we need to completely change how our doctors implement "medicine." We need to STOP over prescribing "medicine." As a doctor, I seldomly prescribe anything. Most overprescribe.

C. Lifestyle: We need to stop convincing ourselves that we are going to live forever. And some of us are born with a really bad hand. We need to accept death and Age more gracefully. Accept it. Stop fighting it. Stop over emphasizing "youth" in movies and media. We all will die some day. We need to accept it. Fighting "death" is a THE biggest cost driver in medicine.

We need to get back to emphasizing the quality of life vs. the length of life. Emphasize the journey. The meaning. The experiences. Instead we emphasize the length? Why? makes no sense? I have somewhat distant family members that are straight up miserable. They admit that they are miserable. They barely shower(once per week). Almost never leave their house. They spend all of their money gambling on lottery tickets and video poker. Consume massive amounts of alcohol. Never exercise. etc. They are not involved in the family at all. they are often grumpy and mean. Angry even. Why do the rest of us have to pay for their heart surgery? Their pills? Why are we subsidizing them? Some of them are now 60 years old and never worked more than a single whole year in their lives!! Why? they are not alone. 10% of our population lives a life similar to this. They are "dead weight." they dont fight for out country. They dont pay taxes. They cant even be bothered to mow their effing grass and stink when we have to stand in line behind them in the grocery store.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

Definitely terrible for the middle class.

How do you figure it is a win for socialists? It is an anti-union ruling.

BTW the term "right to work" is such a euphemistic term for the anti-Union movement, not very accurate either.

Trump does 2 things increases suffering for groups he targets and enriches himself and his buddies. Everything else with Trump is fake.

Bernie may not always be practical, but he is genuine. I think you may be on to something in he can present a message that could draw support from Trump supporters. If(when) he ends up impeached and/or in jail they will need someone to follow. I think the Bernie wing may be a lot more dangerous to Republicans than establishment Democrats.

"Interesting" Supreme Court decisions on Gerrymandering and taking voters off the rolls in Texas and Pennsylvania respectively.

Sad and depressing.

Every 5-4 Gorsuch ruling should be reversed if Dems ever take back power. Stack the Supreme Court. Mitch McConnell opened the flood gates. Norms are over and done with.

This current group of Republicans has no idea on how to govern.

i'm torn on union ruling.

1. my personal business depends on union healthcare benefits to pay for my patient's procedures.

2. But it was unions that first fought for universal healthcare benefits for employees paid for by employers. Which was good! that turned into massive teachers, fire, police, construction unions receiving said benefits. THE LOCAL TAXPAYER Eventually paid those benefits. Which led to massive SALT upticks through the 70's 80's 90's 2000's as those salaries and benefits skyrocketed.

The massive SALT increases led to lobbying of federal govt by wealthy real estate owners to write off SALT from their federal taxes. less income to federal govt.

The healthcare benefits for employees led to medicaid and medicare benefits for the working poor which led to benefits for the poor.

add it all up and we now find ourselves with massive debt. and massive unsustainable govt. where SS/medicaid/medicare accounts for 20% of our annual budget and the interest on our debt stands at around 8% of the annual budget. :o :o 28%!!!!!!!!!!! :o :o

This accounts for $6-8 trillion of our 20 trillion of debt. the middle east wars and obama stimulus are the costliest parts of our debt. About 6 trillion each. $12 trillion total.

But the burden of unions on society in general as been costly. I am all for the middle class. And I understand that a wealthy middle class spends into the economy. But healthcare "benefits" are out of control and led to the healthcare industrial complex and massive rising costs as Big Med and Big Pharm learned that they could expoit the union healthcare benefits.

let's get back to eating right. exercising. and accepting the aging process and accepting death when our time is up. Not everyone gets the 60 foot yacht and for some reason we accept that...but we want to give everyone all the pills and surgery that they want??? makes no sense. Tell you what, just keep your pills and surgery and just give me the free yacht and bentley. just sayin'.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

This vote today has nothing at all to do with governing.

Because there is no immigration bill that can pass the senate right now. zero. zip. zilch. nada. It has no chance in the senate. R's are voting on this solely to say they voted on it during their upcoming election. So this is strictly a "strong on borders" vote because it does NOT contain e-verify.

A good immigration bill must have e-verify. This takes away the incentive and holds employers responsible to NOT hire illegals.
