OKC was just so much better even though Gordon had a good 1st quarter. Russell Westbrook broke the momentum and apparently Caruso can guard Jokic in the post.

Russell Westbrook was -23, while Alex Caruso was +20 at halftime.

Russell killed Denver today.

Brodie wasn't very good in that series most of
the time.

OKC's decision to have Caruso front Jokic was a game changer. They did it when one of Porter or Gordon were out of the game. With those starters being replaced by either Westbrook or Watson, there simply wasn't enough floor spacing. The weak side defender cheated off of his man to prevent the lob to Jokic and there was no way to get Jokic the ball in the post to exploit Caruso's lack of size.

Great game planning by the coach and staff

Any predictions from the board?

I'd like to see MIN - NYK finals but I have a feeling OKC will be there.

I think Indiana is better than New York, but I also expect the refs to side with New York to make sure a big market team makes the Finals.

I think they are too, but I also thought BOS was better than NYK (pre Tatum injury). But you can never count out Brunson. Bing Bong magic, baby...

Imagine the RealGM Wizboard remaking that vid when we win the 2029 Championship.

I've got New York over Indiana. Last year, Mitchell Robinson only played 12 minutes against the Pacers. OG only played 3 games. And of course Randle was out (along with Bojan although it seems like the Knicks have less depth than last season). In game 7 Hart also suffered an abdominal injury. So essentially for this series- the Knicks are swapping out IHart/Donte for Kat/Bridges while adding Mitchell Robinson while losing some backcourt depth.

Pacers depth is still somehow more problematic for the Knicks this season though given that Burks was a 50/40/84 shooting split player of the bench but I believe McBride is better than he was last season (at least he was against the Celtics). Pacers also have Mathurin this season who didn't play last season against the Knicks

This should be a close series though and the Knicks cannot afford to lose a player or 2 to an injury like last season (and even then that series went 7).

As for Timberwolves/OKC, I've got the Timberwolves (by an even slimmer margin). I believe their defense is much better than the Nuggets (Gobert at the rim, better defenders on the wings than Porter or Westbrook, Donte and Alexander Walker should be better than whatever Westbrook was going in the series against OKC). They also have a deeper rotation than Denver. Reminder that the Timberwolves, who do look like a different team, also took out the Nuggets last season who were probably better given they were coached by Malone and also had more depth with KCP (although you could make the case that Murray looked better in this series). That being said, if SGA outplays Edwards, Randle regresses, or if Jalen Williams figures out how to translate his regular season play to the postseason, OKC wins.

I find SGA extremely difficult to watch. Maybe worse than Harden in his prime.

You fart near SGA and they'll give him free throws.

I’ve always had a deep unhealthy sports hate for OKC. I have no real attachment to the SuperSonics, but there way they were so transparently stolen from Seattle (One of Americas great cities) and plopped into fly over country still bothers me. I wish nothing but disappointment for Clay Bennett. I’m afraid this year they may bust through however.

While the OKC defenders foul on every play and don’t get called for it. How much the refs let slide determines OKCs win probability more than anyone else. Their offense isn’t good in the half court so they depend on the feedback loops of turnovers and transition play.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

As they should. If I wanted to see that much acting, I'd boot up HBO Max.

SGA baits fouls like Harden.

Without looking it up, how many FTAa does Luka attempt?

That was one of the best games I’ve ever seen

Crazy they’ve done that 3(?) times so far this offseason

Man I wish Carlisle was the Wizards head coach with a competent front office.
