In reality though, he still has to make his mark in the playoffs. He has to be able to not lose confidence in his jumper in the playoffs. Teams will do him just like they do LeBron, go under the pick and leave him open. That's his test. He is fine in the regular season. When the playoffs start and games are really pressurized, he can't be reluctant.

He has all year to work on gaining more faith in it. Right now, he seems to have a lot of confidence in this shot.

As for last years playoffs, I wouldn't use that as much of a gauge. He had a lot on his plate running the offense and defending.

I think he is the best defensive PG in the league.

He's starting to find out how to act the rim now as well, specifically in the half court.

It's shocking how much he's learned since his rookie year.

So Lowry above Wall is a fact now?

And who is Stevenson?

And where is Westbrook?

Right now I've got Wall at 6th in the MVP race and could move ahead of Davis Paul and Gasol if he keeps this form up.

2.Harden
3.Davis
4.Gasol
5.Paul
6.Wall

I think by Stevenson he means Lance Stephenson, which just makes his post even funnier.

With the Clippers losing the Wizards and the Bucks, CP3 could be behind Wall at this point. Then again, Lowry has the Raptors at a better record so he's probably ahead of Wall for now, but could slip if the Raptors lose a couple of games. We are still barely a quarter through the season, so a 3 game losing streak for the Wizards could potentially leave Wall out of the top 10.

I love Wall, but I don't see him as an MVP candidate yet.

Just wanna say glad to see Wall improve... and Cowherd has come around listening a brief clip... I remember him getting on him all because he "dougied" on opening night in his rookie year during intros, and saying something like that's a look at me move, and would be a Steve Francis/ Marbury guy.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Wall's numbers in December are significantly better than he's been in the past. If he can maintain this current level through this season and into the playoffs, he will certainly be conensus top 5 point guard.

Anybody know what John Wall's PER has been in Dec? He's had to have been at an elite level this month.

December PER is 22.6. Does not include Minny game.

His December ORtg is a rock solid 109.5.

Can I ask why nivek? I respect your opinion. I don't think he'd be above Curry or Harden but I think there aren't to many else who are comfortably above him. He has the team record, the raw stats, the likeability, the leader of the team. He has all the credits to be MVP.

On walls current run Wall is second to only Curry. I say this because he is playing at level only short of Curry. Wall clearly out played Paul and Rondo last week - while leading his team to victories.

You will notice that in the past I said it was curry then Paul and 5 or 6 other guys could legitimatly argue for the next 3 spots in top 5. Wall, Lowery, Westbrook, Lillard,Parker and possibly Rondo for a 6th. I believe each of these 6 guys could have hot weeks or months. With Conley leading the next tier of points.

Right now WallStar is number 2 - But no way on gods green earth can he keep this up.... Right!?!?
