Gordon during the first 21 games of the season was shooting 41% from 3. In the last 11 games, Gordon is shooting only 21% from 3, is he dealing with some sort of injury? Overall this season, I don't think Gordon has been that much better than Markieff Morris.

He has a hip flexor. He's a tantalizing talent at 22 but still seems like a tweener. Would like to see him get a little stronger and tougher.

RE: Porter not being a good fit at PF mostly because he is frail, Oubre is more built and fearless, could we try Oubre @ PF instead of Porter? Probably not an original idea and maybe not the best one, but worth a shot?

It would make Morris expendable. For his modest salary and improved play recently, he has some value going into the trade deadline. I think he's part of the culture/effort problem and wouldn't mind his departure.

There is nothing about him that makes me want him more than a person in this draft coming up.

I think about the cost and the benefits. If the Wizards can acquire a player like Gordon and lose a player like Smith, okay. The obvious player Gordon replaces would have to be Markieff Morris. However, Morris fits in chemistry wise and cap wise.

I don't know enough about his game or contract status and the salary cap to say he'd be a good fit or not. I do believe there are players in this draft who are better IMO than Aaron Gordon.

I think the last three games he's been part of what's going right.

Anyway we can trade Gortat for a coach and team doctor.

No need to say what I had put here earlier. I'm going to be nice to Ted and Ernie.

Would a John Wall trade to Charlotte in the offseason make some sense? His restriction expires on July 26 and he is from North Carolina.

Yes. I am in favor of a Wall + Gortat (or Mahinmi) for Kemba + Zeller trade.

I thought about something similar. Maybe include Meeks for Lamb if you guys are trading Gortat instead of Mahinmi?

Keep in mind Wall has a 15% trade kicker as well.

I don't see the appeal for Charlotte in taking on Wall's contract.

I assume the trade kicker is irrelevant because you can't kick your salary above 35% of the cap.

I agree with you that Wall's contract is what would give Charlotte pause.

Not sure on this, but what about Porter and Mahinmi for Love and Tristan Thompson?
I love Porter, but Love is undervalued right now and Cleveland is desperate to contend this year. We dump Mahinmi for a somewhat more useful player on the same contract, and balance the distribution of our top talent. It wouldnt actually hurt that we'd get a better draft pick this year as well.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

And include a swap of our 1st rounder for the Brooklyn 1st rounder. Done.

Love is "undervalued" because he can't defend any position in the NBA. I'd rather have Porter than Love. And given their respective ages, I'd MUCH rather have Porter 2 years from now than Love 2 years from now.

The trade tries to make up for that disparity by swapping Mahinmi for Thompson, and thereby dumping the final year of Mahinmi's contract, but that's not enough enough sweetener for me. You would have to include that 1st round pick swap as Ruzious suggested in order to peak my interest. And even then, I might not do it.

I think I’ve found where our 1st round pick is headed.

WAS out: Mahinmi, Morris, Meeks, Oubre, 2017 1st
ORL out: Gordon, Vucevic, Ross, 2017 2nd

Wall/Sato/Frazier
Beal/Ross/Sato
Otto/Sato/Ross
Gordon/Scott
Vuc/Gortat

(Assume you mean either 2018 or 2019 picks...)

Oubre is a better player than Gordon right now, & he's improving which Gordon isn't.
We wouldn't be able to keep Gordon, & we wouldn't want to keep Ross.

We do ditch Mahinmi's last year, & Vucevic is better than Mahinmi. But that doesn't warrant giving up Oubre & a R1 pick.

I think that you are severely under rating Gordon

Maybe. Why do you think so? What stands out as something does he does well when you compare w/ other PFs in the league?

I gave that trade a hell yeah.

I'll even go f*** yeah on that one.

This is the type of deal that you might want to make if John Wall is not coming back from that injury until next season...

I wouldn't want Barton to take too many rotation minutes away from Satoransky or Oubre. I do like Will Barton quite a bit though. It would be easier to fit Will Barton in the rotation if we knew John Wall was not coming back this season.

Kenneth Faried play power forward or center for this Wizards. Rebound and set picks. I would let him shoot it if he's open. His number one task would be to get offensive rebounds. That guy is an energizer kind of like Montrezl Harrell.
