His link is actually a different "rumor", but to the best of my knowledge, Foye cannot be included in any deal. Would love for that to be possible, though.

^ No, those tweets are 18 minutes old and coming from the Orlando side of things. :o

That's news worthy for this to be lingering. Foye could theoretically be included if we picked up his QO and worked a sign and trade (if you read the tweets, the rumors are of something in July)

Alex Kennedy is just a kid, but he doesn't do a bad job either.

Edit --> Gilbert isn't even in that thing:

According to sources, this WAS-ORL deal (Vince Carter for Kirk Hinrich, Randy Foye, and Al Thornton) hasn't died yet.

I can't see that happening as reported. We're just taking on salary for no good reason.

Still....some smoke blowing.

According to Michal Lee, Chicago paid the Wizards $3 million in the Hinrich/17 deal.

MrMichaelLee

In addition to Kirk Hinrich & the 17th pick (Kevin Seraphin), Wiz also got $3 million in deal w/CHI. How often do you get paid for a pick?

This makes the trade easier to swallow.

very true.... I like it a lot better now. Extra 3 mil is another FA to fill the roster. Sounds good to me

yeah, I was just about to post that. There was a Broussard tweet earlier that inferred that, but here it is nice and straight.

If Kirk really does end up being movable for expirings, it's not bad value.

never minding that we opened the flood gates for an outright dynasty :nonono:

Warming to the trade. Hinrich taking on Rose in practise and being a mentor certainly worked out well for Rose. Hope he takes up that role with Wall, would be interesting in 6 months to get his opinion on who he thinks will be the better player. With Hinrich helping Wall out with some defensive and general PG tips, and hopefully Arenas mentoring a little on his offensive game (and not his offending game), Wall could turn into an assassin!

Livingtstone would have been good, but the last thing we need is to sign him for a few years and then him to get injured again during training camp or something. The declining contract is good and should be easy to move. Id like to move him at the deadline, the dude has been playing behind Rose for 2 years, hes good enough to start for some teams, the poor guy just keeps getting stud PGs drafted into the mix. LA taking him on would mean a threepeat for sure, if Fisher doesnt resign or retires.

I dont know much about Keviiieeen Seraphiieeen and i doubt many posters on here watched many games of his. I wish Sanders fell. If Keveiiiiin is an athletic bruiser PF/C then i'm happy. Frogs arent generally that tough, though, and i'd hate to have wasted a pick on someone who surrenders on defense.

^^^ The trend is recently that Frenchmen are becoming better defenders with Pietrus and Batum. Hopefully it continues with Serphin.

If Kirk can fetch expirings - theoretically, assuming they want to move him - it's actually possible that this could end up being cheaper than the OKC purchase of the 18th. It would just depend on the expirings.

I don't think that is going to be as hard as it sounds; there's a huge difference between absorbing Kirk into cap space before Free Agency begins with two years on his deal and giving up a guys like Joel Pryzbilla (who's injured) for him.

all depends on 2 things we won't know for a while or ever

how good will Seraphin become?

could we have gotten him in another trade?

That's the most important one IMO especially as it becomes apparent that Durant/Melo are signing extensions to max out money in the current CBA.

But this isn't 3 million in cap space....it's just 3 million that goes into ownership's pockets, like when teams sell picks for 3 million.

It's never much of a deal sweetener for the fans.

The Lakers offered Morrison and Vujacic for Hinrich.

Hinrich fits in nicely with the Lakers. I'm sure they'll explore the same deal next year, except Vujacic will be an expiring.

Huh? We can't trade Foye because he's an UFA.

I was under the impression that Foye was restricted.

Sorry guys , don't mean to troll but I was absolutely shocked and baffled at this trade. I mean what the **** was your GM thinking? There are certain deals you don't make because it can possibly render anything you do in the immediate future absolutely meaningless. This deal definitely has the potential to become the deal that made the sickest dynasty possible.

Think about this: Wall is 20 years old. Lebron/Bosh/Noah/Rose are all 25 years or younger. If Lebron and Bosh join Chicago then they'll have something close to a 10 year run at multiple titles and barring a miracle there won't be a team able to compete with that line-up. Not only is getting a shabby 17th pick so not worth it---it could effectively render Wall's next 10 years pretty meaningless(barring a major miracle trade etc.). I have no clue how this pans out but if Lebron/Bosh join Chicago along with Rose/Noah/Deng I believe that this wouldn't even have been worth doing if Chicago offered a top 5 pick, let alone a pathetic mid first round pick. Washington has possibly shot the east and themselves in the foot big time with this deal.

This^^. The Lakers, and now apparently Kings are hot for kirk. The lakers have wanted him for a while now so i wouldnt be suprised if they offered the wizards Ammo and The Machine for kirk eventually

Yeah LOL. I haven't gone over your guys opinion on this trade but this one was pretty pretty big. You delivered a team with a top PG and good Center and good SF the chance to sign two max FAs. All that for a 17th pick. That dude better pan out to be an all-star. What makes this deal even more shocking IMO is the fact that it was agreed upon PRIOR to the draft meaning that your GM couldn't even have been sure whether his guy was still available at 17 or not.
