Would Zeller+9 be enough for the #4, where Charlotte could take Hezonja? Heck, at that point, I'd see if anyone would take MKG+Marvin for a legit starting PF. Utah is supposedly shopping Favors so they can bring Milsap back.

Jefferson/Biyombo
Favors/Hawes
Batum/FA
Hezonja/Lamb
Walker/Roberts

I think that would be a playoff team in the east... IMO

Sounds like the Celtics are going to trade either Sullinger or Smart to get a top 10 pick so they can draft Myles Turner. I think that'd be a smart (no pun intended) move by them.

Myles turner could potentially help their defense tremendously down the line.

Yup, so they'll have Turner, Olynyk, and Tyler Zeller. Can you play 2 of them at the same time defensively? Zeller does run the court surprisingly well, so I guess he's the PF by default.

And Sullinger switches Zellers. Watch for Cody to take a big step up this season like Tyler did last season. I like the trade better for the Hornets - because Sullinger's good - and they can phase out Big Al. Plus they get the 16th pick. I like Turner better long-term, but the fit in Boston is questionable. Hornets win the trade, imo.

Now there are rumors the Celtics are whooing Pau Pierce and might tempt him with a promise to work in their front office when he retires. Picturing Pierce as a future GM of Boston talking to Wall - not liking it.

really like what the Hornets did this week. They added a lot of shooting and lineup flexibility. I think Batum/MKG will start on the wing but they could also bring Lamb in and have a 2-4 like the Warriors that switch everything. I'm not crazy about Kemba as the PG and franchise player but I doubt they will move him. A perfect draft night would involve one of the SF sliding to them and they trade down to late lotto to pick up a PG and PF (Trey Burke and Trey Lyles?).

If we lose Pierce and then acquire Anthony Morrow with the TPE, I don't think we'll suffer much.

Based on the LA and Sacto picks, seems like the Cousins trade is gonna happen.

I think Denver maybe involved also. I was originally thinking there was some type of Lawson-Randle swap. However I think Randle is going to Sacramento. I think Clarkson is going to Denver and Lawson is going to Sacramento. I think Jordan Hill going to Denver balances out the salaries - or an Ed Davis S&T might be another option.

Makes sense. I'd also expect the Kings to force LA to take Landry/Thompson, so it probably can't happen until July 1 when contracts officially expire and real cap space is created.

Interesting prospect. His DX profile mentions lottery level talent - although serious weaknesses also.
I wonder if teams passed in the second round, because they were concerned they would develop him for 2 years and then have to pay him an MLE-deal if he puts things together.

Question for the Knicks is - Do they rebuild around Porzingis, or do they try to win now around Melo? Seems like they should choose one way or t'other.

I actually think the Porzingis pick says they have chosen. I think they keep Melo for the coming year to keep some interest in the team, but I think in 2016 they offer him to teams that miss out on KD the other big names available.

I don't blame them, they had to finally do a true rebuild at some point. It just feels like Phil pulled a bait-and-switch on Melo and the city. Good thing Melo has his $120M to dry his tears. :D

I agree he was the right pick, but my thinking about Phil's thinking is - They're not going to pick Mudiay because he doesn't fit the triangle (being a PG with a questionable jumper), and Winslow's not a great fit, so none of the choices available would likely help right away, so why not go with the player with the best upside and best trade value.

But if they do look to trade Melo, and go full rebuild, Washington will get mentioned, and Oubre would be a really good fit for NY. He could fit in the triangle, and his length would remind Phil of a guy named da Pip. And those Nene and Webster contracts find a use. I'm definitely not suggesting it, but I could see it.

I definitely think the Knicks should trade Melo. Melo to Miami for Winslow and filler makes a ton of sense for both teams.

Hmmm. I guess since they have traded away their pick next year, it makes sense to keep Melo for one more year like Rico said.
