Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVI
Just out of curiosity, the Wiz are about to have close to 90 mil locked up in just Wall, Beal and Porter. Would you guys have any interest in a trade with the Sixers to move either Beal or Porter?
If so, what kind of deal would you want?

HOLMES !!!
Throw in the kid from DeMatha and a 1st, you can have them both

Sorry, I avoid the pupu platters. Just want one of them. I'd prefer Beal, but not sure what you guys would think is fair.
Doubt you'd want to wait for that 2021 Miami pick.

Depends... Do you take on Mahinmi? Do we take on Bayless?
Assuming just Beal... We'd take bayless off your hands, but I'd want a good bit of controllable, if underwhelming, talent. Zhaire, Fultz, Korkmaz, picks.
Im not sure how you'll value them though. How do you view Covington? Fultz?

Don't think you guys have the assets tbh. More importantly why would we trade with you. Any trade we make would be to free up cap space and put together a more competitive team going forward. Trading Beal or Porter to you would make you significantly better and directly hurt our chances to be competitive.

God No... I know you and others hate Morris, but bayless is HORRENDOUS. RPM ranked him 94 of 97 PGs... worse than IT, Derrick Rose and Dellavedova......
Morris for Bolden. Sign Looney and Bjelica. Call it a wrap.
At the deadline, we'll have plenty of options to get under tax
Oh, I agree! An expiring salary of a not-good player for a prospect? Why not.
I don't like Bayless, man -- I was curious to see how anyone would react.
I also don't "hate" Morris. In fact, I've kind of come to like him. He seems a good guy & a good teammate. Maybe not the most put-together kid, but not some kind of "bad guy," as he was portrayed to be.
If he was an average rebounder it would be a lot easier to like him (at least a little) as a player.
Looney for sure. Bjelica... nah.
But our FO can't even spell Looney.

Thanks for stopping by. A lot of us here really like your team & admire Hinkie enormously (the Colangelos... not so much
TBH, I"d be interested in your sense of what Beal could/should/would bring. I suppose it might be hard for you to think about that independent of a good deal for the Sixers -- but I'm asking for something else, if you understand what I mean. As a fan, it's easy to overestimate your players -- but, then, sometimes it's also easy to underestimate them! Because one gets P.O.d at their foibles.
You had a great draft, IMO. I wish we had picked Smith! I have to say I'm not sure why you didn't pick/keep Thomas yourselves rather than move the pick to Detroit. Otherwise a slam dunk top to bottom.

LMAO Magic would be fired on the spot for making that trade. We would be lucky to get a first round pick and a decent player for Wall.

Lakers are building a team with older veteran players. They are in a "win now" mode. Is there another PG that is available, who can get 20 ppg and 10 dishes? Wall with Bron Bron would make for a good pairing. Not only that, they would attract other star calibar players to the Lakers. I dont think the Spurs would be trading Leonard anytime soon. Spurs are content to wait it out till the trade deadline. Lakers should be looking at other possible trades. Wall should, as you said, get us a good player + 1st rnd pick. So, lets say thats Ingram and 1st round pick. Lakers still need to get a backup PF and backup C. Morris would fit what they need. The price for Morris would be Kuzma. Obviously thats too much for the Lakers to pay, as Morris is not worth Kuzma. So add the poison pill in Deng's bloated contract. That makes Kuzma + Ingram + #1 draft pick + Deng for Wall + Morris.
I abhor Silver

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVI
Lakers would probably like Wall, the tax is not an issue so long as it doesn't prevent them from getting Kawhi. Main issue is that Magic isn't focusing on anyone who hasn't expressed a willingness to be a free agent.
If Wall has any interest in leaving DC, he needs to do it while his contract is easily traded for.

Of course we'd trade with Philly. & how anyone can think the Sixers don't have the assets to acquire Beal... that beats me! Perhaps they don't want to trade those assets -- but they certainly have them.
We'd trade w/ them or any team, if we thought the trade made us better. Ditto in the other direction. Duh.
I know you don't like "pupu platters," but could we at least send Ernie Grunfeld along with Beal?

Wall's ridiculous contract negates most of the value that he has as a player. I would be shocked if ANY team was interested in acquiring him, while giving up a 1st rd pick and good players. Might be in the minority, but I'd accept that deal! Not interested in paying a 31 year old PG who relies on athleticism $47 million! WTF were they thinking?

How about this trade:
John Wall to the Lakers for Lonzo, Brandon Ingram, several egg salad sandwiches, shrimp flavored chips, the contract of Luol Deng, 20 lb of rice, and two future first-round picks.

I thought that my last post was just a joke but you guys are really considering that trade which I think is a good one. Trading John Wall for the rights to some future value from the Lakers while getting out of that super max deal is the best move the Wizards can make in my opinion.DANNYLANDOVER wrote:WallToWall wrote:I wonder if Kuzma + Ingram + #1 draft pick + Deng FOR Wall + Morris would work for Lakers...?

If we offered Wall for Butler straight up, I doubt Minny would say no.
I doubt the thought has even crossed Ernie's mind though.

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVI
Another side note is that Boogie Cousins going to the Warriors for one year actually increases the appeal for John Wall. The Lakers are signing a lot of players for just one year. If they trade for John Wall's deal now, they will still be able to add another player next year assuming John takes the bad contract of Deng away.
This time next season the Lakers could have LeBron wall cousins kuzma and the rest of the talent that they retain.

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVI
I had a dream that we were involved in a 3 way trade with DET and SA. Kawhi to DET, Porter and Mahinmi to SA and Blake Griffin to D.C. Then I realized that would mean taking on Griffin's contract and I woke up from my nightmare.
