All Washington has done so far is do what they were supposed to, win their home games.

The pressure will be on Washington to hold of Pittsburgh in game 3, and it's only a matter of time before some of the guys around Crosby show up.

What could work in our favor is the injuries to Letang, and if there's any justice in the NHL, a game 3 suspension for Kunitz for the vicious cross check to the neck of Varly.

Cautiously optimistic here, but damn, some of you guys scare me.

*Snaps out of it*

Phew...thanks for that. It's just that, as Wizards fans, we've never been in this position. I didn't know how to act.

The reason there were no pitt fans in the audience is because LEONSIS WILL NOT SELL TICKETS TO THEM!!!!

Surprised you didn't hear about this till today. Pretty awesome, though.

Two questions, though....

1. How is this legal?
2. I live in Baltimore. Could I, hypothetically, get tickets?

Seems like Washington doesn't go based on location of the buyer, but rather the ticket purchase history of a buyer. If you predominantly bought tickets for Penguins games they probably flag you as Penguins fan.

Pretty simple to do with a relational database.

As for the legality, the Washington Capitals are a private enterprise. As long as they don't discriminate based on gender, religion or race there really isn't much that anybody can do about it.

Interesting. So discrimination is alright as long as it isn't a particular type (or in this case, types) of discrimination? Just seems odd, is all.

Insurance companies discriminate all the time, it's how they compete -- who can discriminate better.

I just saw the crosscheck Kunitz put on Varly.

If that does not get some kind of suspension

It shows what this league is, ridiculous.

Give Brashear 1 game for contact before the game...ok fine
Give Brashear 5 games for giving a guy a shoulder check that happened to break his orbital bone.

Oh, i guess Varly did not get hurt, therefore no suspension is needed. I hate the people running the NHL, Bettman, Campbell...list goes on.

Bettman just because the pretty boy you put as the face of the nhl is about to get eliminated, does not mean you can let this **** fly.

Kunitz won't be suspended according to what I read.

I hope for Kunitz and LaFleur that series doesn't go beyond 5 games.

http://www.nhl.com

In a statement issued by Colin Campbell and head NHL officials, Chris Kunitz will be fined $2,500 for his cross check on Washington Goaltender Simeon Varlamov. Since Varlamov's head was not severed of his body, the league didn't believe that a suspension was necessary. In other news, Commissioner Gary Bettman gave Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby a ZJ today. According to the PIttsburgh captain, the ZJ could have been better had Commissioner Bettman taken it to a shootout.

Sounds fair...

Game 3 is extra important since the NHL saw fit to schedule a back-to-back game in a playoff series.

Is Versus owned by the Penguins? They all seem to have chubbies for the Pens, Crosby, Malkin, etc.

27 shots on goal compared to our 13. It'd be a miracle of we won this game.

6 straight power plays against the Capitals.

Either we're the dumbest team in the NHL or something's up.

Well, all year long, the Caps have always had dumb penalties.

2-1 Pens, Malkin scores, and that's probably game.

The Caps have not played well at all, but I'm sure the league wants to see this go at least 6 games.
