D-bag move by Wittman... Putting in Vesely and GR Jr. for their first minute of the season with one min left in a blow out away loss.

No sense tuning into the San Antonio game either. I'll see you Saturday when we play Cleveland.

Spurs might rest the big 3

We might rest our Big-3 (Vesely, Seraphin, Rice) too.

This team continues to pile up losses because they give up points at a damn near worst in the league clip.

You're not going to win games that way, I don't care how well you do on offense.

Opponents FG% is .529 not counting tonights terrible effort.

+10000

Outside of the second half against BKN and 45 minutes against OKC, our defense has been godawful. And it's not just because we miss Oak, Marcin has been pretty decent imo. It's our perimeter D, poor individual defense from our gaurds coupled with the whole team being too slow/lazy on rotations and closing out on shooters.

Worst defense in the league.

Not sure how you expect to win games that way...

I hope tonight's performance by Kevin all but spells the end of his career as a Wizard, or at least keeps him in the doghouse for the foreseeable future. Im good with Vesely being our first or second big off the bench. At least he battles out there.

Not worst game by my man TheG 12pkt 12 reb and 4 blocks. Unfortunatelly Wittman reminds me Alvin Gentry and his rotations. 2nd suns unit sucxed but Genrty changed all first lineups for 7-8 minutes and we lost our momentum.
Change the coach first of all and hire backup PG and big who can like Gortat rebound. One player over 10rpg ... and best joke was Al defending Dirk heh

It's already been pointed out that nothing we are seeing is a big surprise. Okafor, the central piece in the team's defensive surge last year, is gone, and without him in the paint, the defense has fallen apart. A possibly not-ready-for-prime-time (or at least max contract) Wall backed up by a not-ready-for-much-of-anything Maynor, a shortage of depth among bigs, a shortage of rebounding, etc.

Yeah, not even mad. Many of us were hoping for the team to develop in a certain way, for it to gel, for the breaks to go our way. But, oh well. It's not like we can say, "Damn, didn't see that coming."

Look on the bright side. With the three points scored by rice. Jr his per 36 scoring is108 points and a top of the league 100 percent three point percentage.

Seriously though I don't understand why he's not playing. Dude got Crawfords moxie. Hopefully we don't lost too many more games and he and porter can help on the second units wings. Our bench sucks and these guys can help improve it.

Other holes in the team is we need a big who can help with interior D and rebounding and a pg to run the second unit. This of course without compromising our future flexibility. I'd actually do ariza, ves, seraphin and Booker for lin and asik but don't know if that's enough although Houston gets out from under lins contract. I also think the Houston squad with harden and them are being douches to him

This team can take you from such highs to such lows.

The OKC game was right there. That would have been huge, but no.

Then they come out looking great tonight. But no.

Sorry, I'm not buying this Okafor theory.

This team has breakdowns all over the place with one or two players consistently out of sync.

Players hesitating on closing out, unsure whom to rotate to. Forcing players baseline when there's no help defense to cut of the lane. Not making an effort to shrink passing lanes, out of position on help defense, the list goes on and on and on.

There is no one player that could fix all those shortcomings.

Ariza goes off and we still lose by double digits. Looks like a made a good call going to the gym rather than watching the second half.

Might as well get started early...

WGAF when you can't stop anybody and can't grab a defensive rebound. John is not a two guard the last time I checked. It's not his fault Nene mailed this one in.

Some questionable calls all game too though.

A lot of offensive talent, but mismatched. Who consistently plays defense other than Ariza? Who protects the rim? Who is tough underneath basket? Who busts his ass after loose balls? Still not giving up hope. It's a long season. I knew we had no shot tonight after we choked that OKC game away and had to go OT.

I still blame Nene for the OKC lose. He took out Westbrick which ultimately gave OKC the win.

So why is that ?

What is different from last year.

Same team except Okafor, Crawford, Martin, Price some Collins, Barron, Livingston, Mack and Pargo
They played Singleton, Ves and Temple at different times.

I guess you can go back and look at the games they won and see what the trend was.
Was it great D or better offense ?

Okafor, Temple, Ves, Price ... ? Crawford ? More Kevin ? Ves ? Martin ?

What was it ? If there was any it to it.

Return to Washington Wizards
