Re: Rui Hachimura 2.0
Basketball's great. F*ck that.
I'm a Wizards fan. That too.
Rui wasn't a particularly good NBA player in his first two years. Who gives a sh#t?
This is a kid, a nice kid, & obviously he is in some kind of serious trouble between his ears. I'm concerned for him. Worried. & I'm thinking about his family too. What this tailspin he seems to be in must be putting them through.
I hope to hell he pulls out of it.

Yes - since I was a little kid - Lew Alcindor was my favorite player, and it stuck via association. And growing up in MD, the Bullets were also my favorite team.
Ok, name that tune:

You can’t love two and still be true oh darling you can’t love two.

He's not even hitting rim.
Hoping he's ready to play again soon.

I don't get it, why can't he play like 5 minutes here and there?

Re: Rui Hachimura 2.0
Since, it is a matter of mental health, I would presume that Rui’s participation is at the mercy of what a mental health professional says (psychologist or psychiatrist or other), and not up to what the team or Rui have to say. Also, someone commented something like if Rui doesn’t want to play, what is he doing trying to work it out. Regardless of whether he wants to play or not, he probably still wants to get paid, and he at the very least is probably doing everything necessary to make sure he keeps getting paid.
Viva le tank! At this pace, it will never end.

We actually don't know the nature of his absence other than it was "for personal reasons", everything else has been pure speculation. If I missed anything, please drop a link with that specific reason. Thanks

You are correct. The first word in my post should have been if rather than since.

Terrific news - and very surprising.

This is still really strange. They way they are progressing him in an extremely slow manner really looks like it's a recovery from physical injury, not a mental health issue.

It wouldn't be the Wizards without a phantom injury.

I'm confused. If all he's progressed to is 3 on 3 practices, why did they bother activating him? If he's only doing 2 on 2's and 3 on 3's, then how is he even close to being ready to play NBA games?

Need another body active just in case due to rising COVID cases and they said he'd be ready by the New Year
